Q1.A. Read the Questions carefully from the given passage and answer them according to
the passage- (5M)
Harini, a clever deer in a forest, once wanted to cross a river to eat mouth-watering red fruit
on the other side. But she knew that many crocodiles were in the river. Harini called the big
crocodile loudly. He came onto the shore. Harini said, “Our king Lion is hosting a big feast. I
have to count the number of crocodiles also. You can call your friends to form a queue across
the river.” Within minutes all the crocodiles came and formed a queue across the river.
Happily, Harini walked on them, crossed the river, and jumped onto the shore. Harini looked
back at the crocodiles. She smiled and jumped into the forest heckling, “You fools, how can
King Lion feed you people in waters?”

The sun was setting behind the hills, casting a golden glow over the entire valley. Birds
were chirping in the trees, and the air was cool and fresh. The flowers in the garden swayed
gently in the breeze, their colours bright and beautiful. A small stream flowed peacefully,
making soft sounds as it ran over the smooth stones.
In the distance, a group of children were playing. They were laughing and running around,
enjoying the evening. Their happiness was contagious, and soon everyone around smiled at
their joyful energy. A dog was chasing after them, wagging its tail.
It was a perfect evening, full of nature’s beauty and the sounds of laughter. Everyone in
the village had gathered outside to enjoy the pleasant weather. Some were sitting on the
benches, chatting with friends, while others were taking a walk along the narrow paths that
led through the fields.
As the sun slowly dipped below the horizon, the sky turned a deep shade of purple. The
stars began to twinkle, and the night quietly took over the day. The village, now peaceful and
calm, was ready for a good night’s sleep.
