Getting Started
„ We are going to begin using IESX applications to
examine a 3D seismic volume and to identify seismic
anomalies within the volume, such as high amplitude
variations and structural features that may be
potential traps for hydrocarbon accumulation.

„ Before you can start interpreting in IESX, you need

to know the fundamentals of GeoFrame and IESX.

„ This chapter takes you through the basics of project

setup and project management in GeoFrame and in
IESX.

„ We will start by interpreting faults to develop the
overall structural framework for the seismic volume.

„ Through this fault interpretation, you will be

introduced to the fault interpretation techniques and
tools available in Seis3DV, Basemap
