I GOT 5 COPYWRITING CLIENTS IN MY FIRST TWO MONTHS AS A FREELANCER!
But the question is HOW I got the clients?
I know it's been really hard to find clients on FIVERR or UPWORK.
Because there is so much competition on these platforms.
But there is a platform which is so EFFECTIVE,
But it is still so UNDERRATED.
LINKEDIN!
LinkedIn is a goldmine..
I first thought that it's only for professionals like businessmen.
But it's the opposite.
It's for everyone.
The ones who want to earn.
The ones who want to learn.
And the ones who want to do something in their lives.
Believe me, there is a creator on LinkedIn who is just learning recently but still have 5000
followers and got a client as well.
Client?
Yes!
The client wanted his profile to be managed by her.
The reason?
Because her posts were getting so many impressions.
Everyone was engaging with her posts.
Everyone was commenting.
So the client wanted his profile to get the same engagement as her.
So, never underestimate the power of LinkedIn.
But here are my 3 favorite ways to hunt clients.
1. LinkedIn
This is a goldmine. It not only allows you to build authority but also lets you prospect, engage
and have a conversation with people. The clients you get here will pay you at least 10x more
than the ones on Upwork.
2. Facebook
Solid platform. Loads of memes, engagement, insight and value-sharing happen here. But if
you connect with the right people, join the right groups, and share the right kind of value, you
can easily make up to $$$.
3. Cold outreach
I like this one too. I think of cold pitching as a high-value task because it positions you as an
equal. Someone who is confident and can move the needle for a business. Cold outreach
can help you easily make $$$ a month with the right offer and the right messaging.
Well the one I love the most is LinkedIn.
So, let’s go deeper into it and explore,
How it helped me get clients fast!
The Power Of Personal Branding On LinkedIn
Why Personal Branding Matters
When I first started on LinkedIn, I was just another name in a sea of profiles.
But then I realized the power of personal branding.
It’s all about standing out and showing the world who you are and what you do best.
Your personal brand is your story, and LinkedIn is the perfect place to tell it.
How I Get Clients from LinkedIn
Here’s a little secret: Clients don’t just come to you because you’re good at what you do.
They come because they know, like, and trust you.
Here’s how I made it happen:
Consistent Posting: I made it a habit to post regularly. Whether it was sharing a tip, telling a
story, or posting a client testimonial, I stayed active. But yes, I never compromise on quality.
Engaging Content: I share content that is valuable and engaging. This included tips, how-to
guides, and personal stories.
People love stories!
Building Relationships: I don't just post and leave. I engage with my connections by
commenting on their posts, sending personalized messages, and being genuinely interested
in their work.
Showcasing My Work: I shared my successes, like completed projects and happy client
testimonials. This showed potential clients what I could do.
Offering Free Value: Sometimes, I offer free advice or mini-consultations. This built trust
and often turned into paid work.
What Should You Post on LinkedIn?
As a newbie freelancer or a copywriter, you might be wondering what to post.
Here’s a simple guide:
Your Journey!
Share your story.
Why did you become a copywriter? (Anything you are)
What do you love about it?
Show a day in your life as a copywriter. People love seeing the person behind the posts.
Engage with Others
Comment on other posts, share your thoughts, and ask questions.
This builds relationships.
My Top Tips for LinkedIn Success
Be Authentic: Don’t try to be someone you’re not. People can sense authenticity and
they’re drawn to it.
Stay Consistent: Consistency is key. Make a posting schedule and stick to it.
Engage, Engage, Engage: LinkedIn is a social network, so be social. Engage with others
and they’ll engage with you.
Learn and Adapt: Keep an eye on what works and what doesn’t. Adapt your strategy as
needed.
Be Patient: Building a brand takes time. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate
results.
Your Action Plan
Optimize Your Profile: Make sure your profile picture, headline, and summary reflect who
you are and what you do.
Start Posting: Begin with 5 posts a week and gradually increase. Share your journey,
experiences, struggles, and life lessons.
Engage with Your Network: Comment on posts, send connection requests, and join
conversations.
Reply to this message if you want some suggestions about who to follow on LinkedIn
Showcase Your Work: Don’t be shy about sharing your successes. Showcase your work so
that you get the feedback from your fellows.
Remember:
LinkedIn is a goldmine!
It has everything for everyone.
I have seen many people who are still in a learning process,
But they are active on LinkedIn.
They are building their personal brand,
Engaging with their audience,
Reading their posts and enjoying their learning process.
If you just start reading the posts on LinkedIn, you will gain so much knowledge.
Final Thoughts
Personal branding on LinkedIn is powerful. I am building my career, and it can do the same
for you. Remember, it’s all about being authentic, providing value, and building relationships.
Start today, and watch yourself grow!
Any questions?
You can ask freely!
Precautions:
1. Your profile picture should be clear. Your face should be clearly visible. Because I
have seen so many accounts getting restricted just because of an irrelevant profile
picture.
2. Don't send too many connection requests. It's also dangerous! Send 2,3 connection
requests daily.
Enjoy!
