Student Guide- End of Year Protocols
Please follow the following protocols carefully to ensure that your work
completed in OneNote is saved and can be imported to any notebooks you
require for next year*. This will be especially important where you are
starting a two- or three-year course, such as GCSE and A-Level.
*Note- ensure that you import the pages into the relevant topic sections
in the following year’s class notebook. The advantage of having a
OneNote class Notebook is that it keeps all your notes organised and easy
to access for future use. If you are in year 11 next year, you should
move/copy relevant pages into the same sections for next year.
1. Go to your relevant OneNote Class Notebook. This can be done either
via OneNote 365 App, or through teams (See below)
2. Navigate to “File” in the toolbar, then select “Export”, “Notebook”,
“OneNote Package”.
3. Now save this to your OneDrive, either in the pre-made file called
“OneNote Notebooks”, or if this does not appear, create a folder where
you can store these. Within this folder, you should create subfolders of
academic years, labelled “Year 7”, “Year 8”, “Year 9” etc.
Frequently Asked Questions
I cannot find my class on teams- where can I locate old OneNote
Class Notebooks?
This means that you have not carried out the procedures on time, and
your class has been archived. Don’t worry! You can still resolve this
without needing to seek IT support.
Warning- this option will not be available indefinitely, and must
be done as soon as possible in the new academic year.
1. Open your main teams view, and choose “Your Teams and Channels”
from the top right hand corner.
2. From here, scroll down through your active teams, and open your
Archived teams.
3. From here, open the team, and follow the exact same steps as
previously to open, export and store the OneNote Class Notebook in
OneDrive.
