RE: URGENT, CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION OF EXPANDED PRODUCT
RECALL OF CERTAIN DEEP-BRANDED FROZEN VEGETABLES AND
FRUIT PRODUCTS
Dear Valued Customer,
Chetak LLC Group is expanding its voluntary recall to include several lots of Deep-branded frozen
vegetables and fruit products due to possible Salmonella contamination.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young
children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons
infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea,
vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the
organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial
infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
While no salmonella has been detected in the lot numbers identified below, and Chetak has
received no direct complaints or reports of illness, it has been detected in products run on the same
equipment during a certain period of time.
Accordingly, out of an abundance of caution and given our commitment to public health and
safety, Chetak has decided to expand its voluntarily recall to these additional frozen vegetable and
fruit products with the specified lot numbers:

included in this recall and are safe to consume. For all other frozen vegetables, please cook
thoroughly.
