○ If a player touches their own piece, it must be moved (if legal).
○ If a player touches an opponent’s piece, it must be captured (if legal).
○ “J’adoube / I adjust” must be said before touching a piece to correct its
placement.
○ Offering draws is strictly prohibited

4. Illegal Moves & Violations

● If a player makes an illegal move, the opponent should pause the clock and call the
arbiter.
● Pressing the clock before completing a move is not allowed.
● Slamming or hitting the clock is prohibited.

5. Handling Pieces
● If a piece is dropped unintentionally, it must be placed back on a legal square.
● If multiple pieces are knocked over, the player must restore them on their own time.
● Only one hand may be used for moves and pressing the clock.

6. Tiebreak Rules
If a game ends in a draw: same format and time control but sides changed.
