Battery Calculation Spreadsheet

Tutorial
Robin Perkins
November 2017
Workflow Overview for ePrice users
 Workflow:
 In ePrice:
 In the Price List window, click the “Battery Calculations” button
 The “Battery Calculator Spreadsheet” will automatically populate
and open
 In the Spreadsheet
 Agree/Disagree with the EULA
 Adjust which PIDs will be used in the calculations
 Adjust the quantities of each PID for the calculations
 Flow through each step – utilizing the “Next” buttons
 Picking candela sizes needed for any multi-candela modules ordered
 Setting the General Settings
 See what the total AH is and if only one battery set is enough
 If one battery set is not enough or you need to use smaller sets, you are able to assign the equipment
ordered to different battery sets (There are a max of 6 Battery Groups max and 20 Repeater Groups)
 The spreadsheet can be saved as needed
 The user can go back to the beginning and alter their choices or even do a whole different
panel
 In ePrice, the battery sets will need to be added manually to the Price List

Workflow Overview for non-ePrice users
 Workflow:
 In the Spreadsheet
 Add the PIDs to be used in the calculations
 Add the quantities of each PID for the calculations
 Flow through each step – utilizing the “Next” buttons

Overview of each Worksheet – “Agreement”
 If a Security Warning appears, click “Enable Content”

 This is a standard Legal Agreement, please read it.

 If you agree to it, click “I Agree” and the next “Set-up” sheet will show.
 If you disagree, click “I Disagree” and the file will close.
Note: If the buttons do not work, click on the “Set-up” worksheet, then back to the “Agreement” worksheet – this is
caused by an Excel bug.

Overview of each Worksheet – “Set-Up”
 Section 1:
 Fill in the Project name
 Section 2:
 Columns:
 “Group Name from ePrice” – enables you to tell how equipment is grouped
 “Part” – available company PIDs and 3 rd Party PIDs can be added here
 “Qty” – Change the quantiies according to what is needed for the calcualtions
 “Include” – enables you to include/exclude PIDs for the calculations (X = include, blank =
exclude)
 Click the “Next ->” button (this will take a few seconds to run through the rows, gathering the necessary
information)

Overview of each Worksheet – “Choice of MultiStyle
Devices”
 If you have devices that have multiple candela options, the “Choice of
MultiStyle Devices” tab will open
 Modify the “Qty of Type Needed” column as needed
 Leave blank if you don’t need a particular style
 Before leaving this screen, all of the “Total Picked” must match their corresponding “Qty
Ordered”
 Click the “Next ->” button

Overview of each Worksheet – “General Settings”
 Modify the battery stand by settings as necessary
Note: “Hours”, “Minutes”, and “%” are auto-formatted to the cells. The user only has to type in the numeric value.
Note: “Addressable Devices on EPS or TPS” will default to “EPS”, it can be changed to “TPS”. For EPS IDNAC devices, a special “EPS
Power Conversion” equation must be used.

 Click the “Next ->” button

Overview of each Worksheet – “Battery Calculations”
 Right at the top of the Worksheet, it will show the “Total AH” and “Min Battery
Required” for the equipment you have chosen.

 If the amount is larger then a single battery set can handle or if you want to
use smaller battery sets, click on the “Next ->” button

Overview of each Worksheet – “Battery Calcs by Group”
 This is where you can move equipment into different battery groups.
 By default, all panel equipment is placed in Battery Group 1. The one
exception is that configured 4100ES panels will automatically group modules
by their cabinet assignments (if the project was imported from ePrice).
 The devices/peripherals are not assigned groups initially – the user must
assign all of them.
