What is Networkshop?
“Networkshop is an annual technical event for those
network providers at customer sites using Janet, the UK’s
national research and education network, provided by
Jisc. It is organised by the Jisc and hosted each year by a
Higher Education organisation in the UK. Networkshop
has become an established and unrivalled event on the
academic conference calendar and attracts experts from
across the UK”

Editor's Notes

  • #8 This is Networkshop 44. First Networkshop held at the University of Glasgow – 29/9/1977. Much smaller numbers and it was much more of a workshop with delegates working on network protocol development with members of the Joint Network Team as we were at the time. We held two workshops a year until 1982 when it was decided to only host one event a year. This has always been a major community event for the Janet networking community each year and we have seen a number of changes since its inception in 1977
