Guns N'Roses frontman Axl Rose labeled 'drama queen' after raging meltdown during concert
Guns N'Roses lead singer Axl Rose is mocked online after he experienced an on-stage meltdown during the band's recent performance in Argentina over brief technical difficulties
Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose is known to reportedly be a hot headed, and his short temper came out during his performance with the band in Argentina over the weekend.
Axl, 63, had a brief meltdown at the Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium in Buenos Aires over technical difficulties with his earpiece, sources close to the situation told TMZ. Footage of the incident that's circulating online shows the rock music group's lead singer singing Guns N'Rose's hit record 'Welcome To The Jungle' while bassist Duff McKagan, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Isaac Carpenter played on the stage with him.
Initially it appeared that Axl was upset with how Isaac was playing the drums, but it turns out that wasn't the reason for the outburst that happened after fans finally learned the meaning behind Guns N' Roses' moniker.
Insiders told TMZ that Axl kicked Isaac's bass drum and chucked his mic at the drum kit because his earpiece was flawed, so he could only hear the percussion instruments, nothing else.
Thankfully, the singer's team was able to fix the problem by the time the third song came, which got Axl to calm down. After that the show continued on smoothly.
On X, formerly Twitter, fans reacted to Axl's meltdown, with one writing on the platform, "I just found this on TikTok and i’m cracking up we really got the full Axl Rose experience," referring to a clip of Axl going wild onstage.
"Such a drama queen," one other shadily wrote, and a third remarked, "He was mad because the sound. Just it."
While Guns N' Roses are now making headlines because of Axl, last year the band's iconic guitarist Slash made headlines after his step-daughter Lucy-Bleu Knight tragically took her own life.
Lucy-Bleu's death was ruled a suicide as report from the Los Angeles County medical examiner in August 2024 found that she died from hydrogen sulphide toxicity. Officials revealed that authorities found Lucy-Bleu unresponsive during a welfare check at a private home on July 19, 2024, leading to her being pronounced dead at 3 p.m. local PST time.
Slash announced the tragic news of his stepdaughter's passing in an emotional post to Instagram in July. At the time, he also cancelled a concert in the wake of Lucy-Bleu's death.
"My heart is permanently fractured," Slash wrote on Instagram at the time, sharing a picture of Lucy-Bleu. "I will never ever stop missing you and remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity and beauty you have always been ... and still are. The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally."
