Brooklyn Beckham brutally trolled as he launches new career venture
Brooklyn Beckham has been slammed by fans after he announced his latest career venture, with some cruelly comparing him to Meghan Markle and demanding he 'get a job'
Brooklyn Beckham has come under fire again as many have slammed him after he revealed his latest professional endeavor.
The 26-year-old, who is reportedly estranged from parents David and Victoria Beckham, posted on Instagram a video of himself preparing some fresh homemade strawberry preserves. In the clip, Brooklyn could be seen preparing the strawberries, making them into jam before presenting his final creation on a piece of sourdough toast. He also offered a portion to a woman who remained off-camera, but ended the recording before sampling it himself and showing fans what he thought of his creation. He titled the video with just two words, "Strawberry jam x."
Although the sweet creation looked delicious, the budding food enthusiast faced severe backlash with some supporters drawing parallels to Meghan Markle while others insisted he should "get a job" instead of creating content.
The video also comes just a week after Meghan debuted the second series of her Netflix show, which shows her in the kitchen creating jams, spreads and cooking dishes to serve.
The new lifestyle venture has sparked the comparison between the two, with some criticising Brooklyn's content as imitating the Duchess of Sussex.
Mentioning Meghan's preserves that she markets through her As Ever lifestyle brand, one Instagram user commented, "First Meghan, now you! What's the fascination with strawberry jam? Anyone can make it... [eyeroll emoji]".
Another joked, "The new Meghan Markle," accompanied by three laughing-crying emojis. Yet another person raged, "Get a proper job that pays your lifestyle!", reports the Express.
Nevertheless, some supporters rapidly came to Brooklyn's aid. "All the trolls out in full force again with totally boring and irrelevant comments. Just spreading the hate and spite," one declared.
Brooklyn often showcases his culinary prowess on social media and recently jetted back to the UK for a special cooking session. He joined forces with acclaimed chef Michel Roux Jr. in the kitchen of Wigmore restaurant at the Langham Hotel.
In a different Instagram video, Brooklyn made it clear that this meal was the sole reason for his UK trip, completely overlooking his famous parents.
The last time the young Beckham was seen with his family was on Boxing Day 2024, and it appears he hasn't spent any time with them in the UK since.
Brooklyn has yet to comment on the reported drama with his family, which came to light in April when it was reported that he and his brother Romeo Beckham were having a disagreement. The couple was also noticeably missing from David's 50th birthday celebration.
