David Beckham and Victoria 'beat' Sir David Attenborough to major new title
David and Victoria Beckham have been named as two of the most 'socially significant people' in Britain in 2025, but one of the stars who missed out on the top spot may not be impressed
Victoria and David Beckham have landed the fifth spot on Tatler's Social Power Index of the 100 "most socially significant people" in Britain for 2025. The Royal couple, Prince William and the Princess of Wales, topped the list as "the most influential in the land."
However, the Beckhams managed to outshine renowned historian Sir David Attenborough, who was ranked sixth. This might come as a shock to the 99-year-old whose work has enthralled audiences globally, and he may not agree with the final ranking.
Tatler commended the Beckhams for their bustling year and noted that thanks to Sir David's recent knighthood, "Brand Beckham just grows and grows."
Tatler wrote, "A tell-all Victoria Beckham documentary for Netflix produced by David's own Studio 99 team this year! And now knighthood! Brand Beckham just grows and grows. The platinum invitation was to David's 50th birthday celebrations in May - granted to such stars as Eva Longoria and Gordon Ramsay."
It's perhaps no surprise that another person who might not be happy about the announcement is Brooklyn Beckham. The son of the former England footballer and model is reportedly in the midst of an ongoing family feud.
Brooklyn and his father have allegedly become somewhat estranged after he didn't attend David's 50th birthday celebrations.
David Beckham took to Instagram with a sweet throwback, hinting at a possible reconciliation by reaching out to his son, Brooklyn, amid family tensions. He also made the gesture on his mother's birthday, tagging his three sons - Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz.
Media outlet Express Online has made efforts to get a statement from Brooklyn's representative regarding the situation.
A magazine has spotlighted 100 "significant" UK personalities, celebrating influential figures in sports, politics, and entertainment.
Coming in second place behind the ranked individuals is British and Irish Lions captain Maro Itoje with his model wife Mimi, while Dora Loewenstein, age 59, clinched third place, being dubbed a "powerhouse princess."
The list included noteworthy names such as Health Secretary Wes Streeting for a memorable karaoke performance and 'The Crown' actor Dominic West, who was recognized alongside his spouse, Catherine Fitzgerald.
The full Social Power Index can be found in the upcoming August edition of Tatler, which will be available electronically and at newsstands starting Thursday, 3rd July.
