Warning: Graphic content - UFC stars Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki were left unrecognizable in a bloodbath on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 108

UFC stars Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki were left unrecognizable after going to war in a bloodbath during their co-main event at UFC Vegas 108 on Saturday night.

The lightweights put on a show for the paying fans, with both being left bloodied and disfigured. Rebecki's right eye had become incredibly swollen throughout the fight, and the Pole could barely see when the fight ended.

Despite suffering their fair share of battle wounds, Scotsman Duncan won the fight unanimously. It was a devastatingly successful promotion of the UFC's brand of brutal fighting, and the company is preparing for a huge year. The White House will host a UFC bout next year as part of events to mark 250 years of American independence.

UFC chief Dana White is a longtime friend of President Donald Trump. Top former stars Jon Jones and Conor McGregor could also return and fight on the same card in the U.S. capital.

The fight between Duncan and Rebecki also pitted two teammates against each other. They both trained with American Top Team. "For me, it's difficult. We live together. He lived behind my wall. It's a funny situation because nobody in the world has that situation," Rebecki revealed before Saturday's war.

"You have teammate and an opponent in a place where you live. It's hard for your mind, but you can be better because you see how he trained. If you rest, your opponent go to training. When I see he go training and running, I want to do more. A couple minutes more running or go earlier to sleep. Do more than him. It's motivation. Stressful of course, but I didn't want to fight with him because he is my teammate."
