Venus Williams has opened up on a heated confrontation she had with a man on an aeroplane, with the seven-time Grand Slam champion revealing her brutal response
Venus Williams' clever comeback during an airplane confrontation left a stranger completely speechless.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion shared the hilarious story with sister Serena during their new 'Stockton Street' podcast episode. The sisters discussed everything from their legendary careers to awkward dates and their close bond, including some memorable airport disputes.
Venus, 45, had a particularly entertaining tale to share with her younger sibling. She started by saying: "Speaking of road wars, I have gotten into a few arguments in the airport.
"I remember one time I was in the airport and I saw Pam Grier on the plane. I'm a big fan of her, I love her in Jackie Brown. I went over to her seat and was like, 'Oh my God, I'm such a big fan.' I never go up to anyone but I love her." It comes as Venus made a plea to sister Serena after awkward US Open moment.

So I went around to the front and kept talking to her and he went, 'Someone might be sitting there.' And I ignored him.
"I finished my conversation and then when I was done I looked at him and said, 'Sir, I think you said something before, and if it was important I didn't want to miss it," reports the Express.
"It was so like dude, you don't know who you're messing with. I am always going to be nice, I'm not going to be nasty like you, but you're going to feel the pain. He was flabbergasted, he had no idea what to say."
She disclosed that she got encouraging reactions for her sharp response, explaining: "I went to the bathroom later and the flight attendants were laughing, they were like, 'OH we saw that. That guy was so mean, he was mean to us too. We're glad you got him.' In the airports people get crazy."
Although Serena ended her tennis career in 2022, Venus continues to compete and even advanced to the US Open doubles quarter-finals alongside Leylah Fernandez. The duo was subsequently defeated by Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova who went on to lose in the final to Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski.
She also participated in the mixed doubles and women's singles at the major in August, suffering a first round elimination in the singles against Karolina Muchova. Nevertheless, the five-time Wimbledon champion succeeded in claiming a set from the world No. 15 during the three-set defeat.
Making her first Grand Slam return since the 2023 US Open, the former world No. 1 expressed gratitude for the incredible support from spectators.
"I don't think I've ever had a crowd that much on my side," said Williams who currently holds the No. 575 world ranking. "When I lost those first two games, they were just still right there with me every point.
"Didn't matter if I was losing and it was starting to roll fast, they were just right there with me, and it felt great. I knew going into this match that people in this stadium, people in the United States, people around the world were really rooting for me, and that felt great."
It comes after Serena Williams' question reduced Naomi Osaka to tears after 'tough moments'.
