Black Friday is on the horizon, but before that there are two huge ongoing sales across retailers Debenhams and Lakeland, and our experts are busy picking out the best seasonal bargains.

Debenhams Blue Cross event still has days to run and is offering discounts of up to 70% across a huge range of Home, Autumnwear, Beauty and Furniture products while Lakeland's Autumn Savings Event is offering up to 20% off Cooking and Dining, Laundry, Storage and more products.

And if you are looking for a little bit more off your next purchase, setting up a free TopCashback account here will give you a further a £15 sign-up bonus, which can be applied alongside cashback earned on an Amazon order. Together, these savings reduce the price, for example, Silent Hill f on the PS5 to £44. A 1960s-set survival horror game, Silent Hill f is one of the most eagerly anticipated games this year.

DEAL OF THE DAY: That's an easy one. The Rialto Chronograph Quartz Watch from New York's STÜHRLING Original which has seen its usual £1,050 price tag slashed to £95.40.

A trip down memory lane

I spotted this earlier from my colleague Steffan Rhys, it was a lovely bit of reminiscing on a Monday morning. I'd love to know which store you miss most - MVC for me!

Debenhams sale: Over £900 off watch that "makes you feel a million dollars"

To be honest, this is quite a remarkable price crash.

I'm not necessarily in the market for a new watch, but knowing I could nab a £1,050 STÜHRLING Original Rialto Chronograph Quartz Watch for £95.40 might just put me in the market.

Nina Crighton writes: "The watch has a bold design and has been described as "stunning" by shoppers, with one saying it "makes you feel a million dollars"."

Which sounds about right.

Features: The watch features a Tachymeter and accurate Japanese VR32 chronograph movement, allowing for speed calculation and stopwatch capabilities. Visually striking, it sports a 44mm Silver Case and blue leather strap that perfectly complements the coordinating dial.

And if you really are looking for a new watch, another option is the STÜHRLING Original Ultima 3960 Quartz 42mm Chronograph watch which has been reduced from £995 to £102.

Top-sellers: Home Bargains Festive door decorations go viral

Home Bargains have Festive fans 'raving' about a £13 item that is likely to become even more sought-after as we get closer to Christmas.

Writing for the Liverpool Echo, Amber O'Connor says: "The retailer has unveiled a festive wreath that has shoppers "obsessed", thanks to its striking "boho" style. The new £12.99 wreath stands out with a bow decoration and cowbell ornaments - and customers are loving the decor."

"Home Bargains shoppers have a variety of wreath designs to choose from this year, as showcased in the retailer's social media posts. One post highlighted several green and red wreaths, including the cowbell design," she adds.

Save £100s: Huge discounts on Samsung tablets with Argos

Samsung are one of the biggest names in tablets - and not just because they produce tech to rival US giant Apple.

The Korean firms Samsung Galaxy tablets are well regarded and the Galaxy Tab A9 now has the added bonus of £100 discount at Argos.

Originally released in 2023, the Galaxy Tab A9 has 64GB of storage while up to 1TB of extra storage can be added via microSD. That's loads of space for extra movies or music, but note that it can't be used for apps.

The tablet boasts an 8.7-inch display and with its metal body it has a premium feel to it.

The Galaxy Tab A9 is £99 on Argos, with the store saying it's the cheapest price it has offered.

Argos is flush with positive reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, with many shoppers praising the value: "Great price, really good value for money," says one buyer, "A good value tablet which meets my needs," said another.

Sale: Better than 50% off Debenhams Phase Eight range

As well keeping an eye on what the shopping team are publishing, I also like to keep an eye on what readers are searching for, and one of the big searches across the Debenhams sale has been for the Phase Eight range of womens wear.

As part of the Debenhams Blue Cross event, the brand has huge discounts across jumpers, maxi dresses, jeans and more with upto 70% off some items.

Time is running out, but I've picked out a few items with the biggest discounts including this Carle Fine Knit Geometric Dress with 54% off and currently limited to sizes 8 and 10 on the website.

The Addyson Sparkle Maxi Dress Sparkly has 61% off - down from £130 on the website. Be quick, only the black version is still in stock.

The very smart Sukie V-Neck Knit Jumper Plain has 69% off it's £69 price tag and is in very short supply if you want to grab yours.

Looking for some smart casual joggers? The Carter Tapered Jersey Joggers Plain should do the trick and also have 69% off.

All Phase Eight items are limited in stock so get over to the Debenhams website and get browsing.

Energy Savers: The wifi-connected plugs that make everyday items a little smarter

I have these all over my house, and they have been a really useful edition, not only energy-saving, but money saving.

Tapo P100 (2-Pack) Smart Plug. (

Amazon)

Why? Because instead of upgrading everything in the house to a Smart device, I've got the Tapo P100 Smart Plugs dotted around, allowing you to set timers, schedules and more through an app on your phone.

The app also handily ties in with smart speakers like the Echo Dot, meaning you can walk around turning things on and off like you were in some kind of Star Trek. Which IS cool.

That means the kettle in the bedroom for a morning cuppa, lights scheduled on and off when I'm away and the radiator taking the edge off in the home office before I've even woken up.

Two packs of Tapo P100 Smart Plugs are down to £14.99 from £19.99 on Amazon, cutting 25% off the cost as a whole.

Other options include the Energenie Auto Shut Off Plug for £9 from Argos. The 30 minute automatic shut off timer is designed to cut power after half an hour and can help prevent overheating. Another is the WIZ Smart Plug for £17.99 that works with Siri Shortcuts, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and can be scheduled to appliances to switch off automatically.

Let Boden get you ready for Christmas

A couple of pieces from Boden - the British clothing retailer - have caught my eye this morning, in part because they're getting ready for Christmas early.

Writing for OK Magazine, Eve Rowlands says: "It's never too early to start planning Christmas party outfits - especially when so many of our favourite shops have launched partywear ranges."

Looking through Boden's fresh arrivals, I stumbled upon the Lucille Tulle Midi Dress, which could very well be the dream Christmas party dress. Tagged as 'one to watch' online, this frock seems to be a comfy yet chic choice for the upcoming yuletide season.

Despite being 'new' to the Boden website, shoppers can get 15% off the Lucille Tulle Midi Dress - taking it down to £126.65 - by using the code WXVK at the checkout. That's a saving of £22.

"The dress is fully lined and showcases a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette, a style Boden is renowned for. It also comes in emerald green for those who don't fancy the black hue," Eve adds.

See the dress in full here.

Boden's 'beautiful' and 'cosy' Christmas jumper that 'cheers up a dull day'

While we're on Boden's website, Kerri-Ann Roper for the Mirror has flagged the Edie Fair Isle Jumper (Red/Snowman) at £99 as an instant classic.

This Christmas jumper from Boden has been described as 'beautiful' and 'cosy'. (

She writes: "The Red/Snowman print has happy snow figures dotted around the top section, with Fair Isle sleeve details in pink and blue, which match perfectly with the vibrant red and white. If it's too early for fashion savvy shoppers to be adding festive jumpers to their winter wardrobe, this jumper also comes in Grey Melange, Animal (reduced to £68.60), Oatmeal Melange, Flowers (£99), Pink, Geo Fair Isle (£99) and a few other options."

Don't forget that code WXVK at the checkout.

And if you are looking for something a little less Christmassy, but no less fashionable, have a look at the M&S Collection Boucle Fair Isle Relaxed Jumper With Wool, costing £36.

'Cute but practical' - this draught excluder will be a talking point in any room

When I woke up on Monday morning I wasn't expecting to write 'the must-have Henry Highland Cow Draught Excluder.'

But I have, and now I've seen it, I very much understand.

Dunelm's Henry Highland Cow Draught Excluder (

Dunelm)

This cute but practical item is £16 at Dunelm, with a matching doorstop also available. I is made with a durable cord fabric, with a polyester fibre filling, and will stop any draughts from entering rooms from under doors or windows.

There are other 'cuddly creatures' available from Dunelm, but really the question is: "How many Highland Cow Draught Excluders shall we get?"

Stay cosy: Energy saving electric blanket a bargain in Debenhams sale

I use the example of working from home a fair bit when it comes to writing these posts about heating the home during the day. It's certainly going to get colder but it's a huge waste for me to turn the heating on across the whole house.

That's why I am keeping an eye on various different methods of heating individual rooms and there have been plenty of options over the last few weeks.

We've had the £99 Dreo Whole Room Heater, Dunelm's £25 650W Oil-Filled Radiator and the ProBreeze 2000W Mini Ceramic Fan Heater among the options.

The heated electric throw is currently on sale at Debenhams (

Debenhams)

However, I'm also going to check out the Purus Deluxe Electric Throw Heated Double Over Sofa Blanket which is down to £39.99 as part of Debenhams Blue Cross event.

As well as coming in four different colours, the blanket is made from soft fleece and the manufacturer claims it costs just 3p per hour to run. A significant saving on heating the whole house.

The blanket also has nine heat settings which are managed using a remote control and it is machine washable.

Lakeland sale: The 'super easy' slow cooked has 25% off

I absolutely swear by my slow cooker, especially as it starts to get colder and the nights draw in.

If I was looking to upgrade, the digital cooker in the Lakeland sale would certainly catch my attention.

The Lakeland 3.5L Digital Slow Cooker is currently offered with £10 off its usual price of £59.99, meaning the slow cooker now costs £49.99. It's part of the brand's Up To 25% Off Cooking Electricals deal.

Described as 'super easy' to navigate, the 3.5 litre pot is ideal for feeding the family or batch cooking quick and easy meals.

If you are browsing for a new slow cooker there are some alternatives - at Argos the Cookworks 6.5L Slow Cooker - Black - is £33, and there is the Daewoo 3.5L Slow Cooker for sale at Asda for £23.

One buyer said: "The digital aspect puts it in a class of its own! The aluminium inner makes it easier to lift, which is a consideration now I'm getting on a bit".
