Heartstopper Season 3 trailer teases iconic shower scene and new character leaving fans feeling 'ten emotions'
The nearly three-minute trailer for the upcoming season of Netflix's Heartstopper was released today (September 17) and fans are losing their minds
Heartstopper fans have finally had their patience rewarded as Netflix has just released the much-anticipated official trailer for Season 3.
Spanning almost three minutes, the new trailer was released on Tuesday (September 17) afternoon, and it's set social media ablaze as viewers dive into the teased plotlines, reports the Manchester Evening News.
It beings with a scene featuring Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) lost in music while sitting on a beach, until Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) playfully interacts with him. The following voiceover, which splices lines from several characters, sets the tone: "Sixteen is when nothing makes sense anymore. Starting sixth form and thinking about uni options, and it's all just... a lot."
The sneak peek suggests upcoming episodes will focus on Charlie's mental health; there are glimpses of him feeling isolated from his friends and shots showing him looking particularly down. His struggle does not go unnoticed, as Nick confronts Charlie about being "really worried" because he seems "really stressed."
The cast have been upfront with fans about the darker themes that will be explored in the coming season as the characters grow up and face the prospect of life at university. The show also promises to delve deep into issues such as gender dysphoria, highlighted by Elle Argent (Yasmin Finney) who opens up about painful emotions triggered by her romantic interactions with Tao Xu (William Gao) depicted in the trail.er.
Fans were thrilled to catch their first look at Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey joining as Insta-celeb writer Jack Maddox. The teaser also granted an electrifying sneak peek of the shower scene where protagonists Charlie and Nick declare their love, much to the delight of fans who have long been anticipating this pivotal moment from the source material.
Fan reactions were overwhelmingly positive, with comments pouring in expressing fervent excitement. "They have the shower scene. Yes. My life is complete," one fan gleefully posted, while another confessed to being overwhelmed with emotions just from watching the trailer: "How have I just started feeling like 10 emotions at once FROM A TRAILER."
"Heartstopper has stolen all of our Hearts," declared one viewer. Another added: "MY FAVOURITE SCENE OF THE COMIC LOOKS PERFECT I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!".
"This is the quickest I have ever been to a trailer release lol," joked another fan. Meanwhile, one shared their mixed feelings: "I'm both excited and afraid of what's to come. The emotional rollercoaster that awaits for us is just insane, though I also can't wait for the amount of feels and emotions that will come with this season."
