Employee Self-Service (ESS) Applications:
This section provides information about the applications (services) that are available in the
Employee Self-Service component.
The individual applications are assigned to the following areas:

Configure SLD Security Roles
Configure the below roles for the SLD management. Login to the J2EE UME with the
below URL and create the given roles and User groups. Then assign the Group
SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR to user administrator.

After this, SLD will start the initial import of the data.

Then update the CIM Model and CR content.

Configure the Technical Systems in the Landscape
Ensure that all the Systems involved ECC and XSS are registered in the SLD
Maintain the RFC connections between the portal and backend systems
Create JCORFC connection in Visual admin
Create RFC (TCP/IP) in SM59
The program ID should be same to both the RFC connections.
Maintain the SSO parameters in RZ10
Login\create_sso2_ticket=2
Login\accept_sso2_ticket=1
Create system alias in Portal
System alias has to be created in System Administration- System Configuration-System
Landscape-portal Content- Systems (Systems folder needs to be created for our
reference)
The backend system information needs to be given while creating the system alias.
Create a System for ERP HR background Systems
Create a system for Portal in the Systems folder
Create ITS based system for purchasing area of XSS application

System Administration- System Configuration- Keystore Administration- Download
verify.der file
Import Verify.der certificate
Import verify.der certificate to R/3 using STRUSTSSO2
Certificate- Import-Browse and select the certificate. Then add to certificate list and add
to ACL.

Export the R/3 certificate using STRUSTSSO2 and import it to portal.
System Administration- System Configuration- Keystore Administration-
Import Trusted certificate- Browse and upload.
Assign the ESS and MSS role to USER. Then we will get the initial screen of ESS and
MSS.
