Part One : Review

Introduction

Social media is a various means that helps variety of people to communicate with each other more
Easily. I choose these theme because it is one of the major trends that involves everyone in the Society.
The main aspects about media is that it allows us to communicate openly with different Kinds of people.
Social media has made our lives very differently. The theme that is found on these Articles is
communication. This review will be focusing on how the youth is affected by social Networking sites by
looking positives and negatives impact of social media and will be looking at How much the time they
spend on social media.

The key point I found from the article is that social media plays an important role in our society. There
are social networking sites that deal with education. These has helped many students. With the help of
social media students can easily communicate or share information quickly with each other through
various social sites like Facebook, Orkut, and Instagram etc. In schools, colleges And universities ,
teachers are able to post tutorials online classes and also important dates ,for example , submission
dates for assignments and formal tests. So because of media we can get studying sites that will helps us
to be more engaged with education. What really affects the youth us That they may not use these sites
for good, the end up spending most of their time on media for Something that affect them negatively.
The main concern about the negative effect comes to Mind is the kind of distraction to the students
present in the class.

Another article was focusing on how the youth spend their time on social media. So it was found that
the youth has become quite addicted to social media. The study argues against the notion claiming that
due to the rapid popularity of social networking sites the youth tends to distract themselves from their
studies and professions but on the contrary is also developing friendly and Social ties with the world that
revolves around them .All of this leads to the youth because it was Investigated that almost 55.4% of the
population that use media are ranging in 15 to 25. Also, the findings state that even though the youth
reciprocates to these events they still do not take up discussions beyond web and forget about them
once they sign off. Thereby, these sites prove to be a Help to the youth in terms of spreading awareness
about these issues that arise. So in the end ,youth tends to spend at least 7 hours a day being on these
sites which makes them be left out on real life Experiences and also affecting their health.

Since social media grows with experience, the youth has become adapted to media since it is a daily
routine to them. The satisfaction factors is that news sharing intention in the context of media. Many
People have similar interests in news, so when someone post some interesting news, it is spread across
online communities and it is discussed by many people around the world within seconds. In Other cases
,the youth use social media to make themselves to be known and so by sharing Interesting information
they are able to obtain peer recognition and positive image.. Further, status Attainment has been shown
to be a strong motivation for participation in the online environment (Marlow, 2006). Larose and Eastin
(2004) also found that social status was one of the prime motivators driving Internet usage. So I think
that it is important to divide our free time very carefully. We need to identify factors that Make us to be
addicted toward social media. So my key question is that, how does satisfaction impact social media
users to post and share news on media and how can we put strategies in place to make ourselves being
not addicted towards these social networking sites?
