Goal

The goals of the general “Wire EDM-Expert interface” are :


 Provide interface to access the EDM data for the
AgieCharmilles products to the CadCam builders, allowing to
build complete Jobs “ready for execution”
 Centralise through an unique interface, the access to the EDM
of the principal Wire AgieCharmilles machines.
 Provide a simple interface, “CadCam user” oriented, which is
not supposed to change, even if the EDM data / AgieCharmilles
internal structures will change.
(i.e. no dependance from TecCut/CT-Expert interfaces
evolutions)

Principle

 The unique EDM-Expert interface will provide simple functions to


define the machining requirements, and the target machine
options
 The interface will deal with the several EDM-Experts according
to the machine model and specific interfaces, and provide the
required data to the CadCam
 In case of new machine models / EDM data evolutions, the
interface will make an “isolation” to avoid modifications to the
CadCam
