Narrative Report on School Based Feeding Program
SY 2019-2020

In order to intensify health and nutrition among our grade school pupils, Salomague
Elementary School as spearheaded with School Feeding Coordinator Mrs. Judelyn T. Somera
and our School Head Sir Ronel M. Ubaldo in running targeted supplementary feeding
program for wasted and severely wasted children of this school. This program aims to
reduce malnutrition among grade school pupils.

Our School Feeding Coordinator threshed-out those who were severely wasted and
wasted pupils from Grade One to Six levels. There were 14 recipients of the program. The
school provides daily mirienda and heavy lunch. The children are to be fed for 120 days. The
budget is 16.00 per pupil per meal. The meal was prepared by our Feeding coordinator and
parents of the recipients following low-cost and balanced menus compiled by Mrs. Somera.

The recipients’ parents of the program were all called for an orientation which was
conducted by the School Head and Feeding Coordinator. They were informed of their child’s
nutritional status, program objectives and purposes which they would take part.

After the orientation, the parents were grouped into five for their daily schedule. The
involved teachers and school head made a daily schedule of the parents who will be cooking
for the recipients.

Gulayan sa paaralan served as partner of the SBFP. It served as a supplier of

vegetables such as malunggay, kamatis, sitaw, and other green leafy plants which are very
essential for the nutritious meals served.

During the feeding, health care practices such as handwashing and tooth brushing
were also promoted. Teachers in all grade levels make sure that the pupil’s nail and hair
were clean and proper. This is to ensure health and hygiene of the pupils.
