School-Based Feeding Program

(SBFP) Accomplishment Report
s.y. 2023-2024

I. Introduction

Bukal Elementary School is continuing the implementation of the School-Based

Feeding Program (SBFP) for the school year 2023-2024 in accordance with Deped
Order No. 23, s. 2020. This is to address hunger and encourage learners to enroll,
contribute to the improvement of their nutritional status, provide nourishment for their
growth and development, help boost their immune system, and enhance and
improve their health and nutrition values.
In the current year, the school has thirteen beneficiaries who regularly receive
nutritional meals and snacks from the department of education and from the school.
There are 90 days and a timeline in the cycle menu plan of nutritious food products
for this school year. It started on September 18 and is expected to end on March 1.
The said nutritious foods are nutribun (carrot, squash, horseradish), fruit juice (lime,
guyabano), iron-fortified rice, banana lakatan, fresh eggs, corn, and others. And 35%
of the monthly income of the school canteen is given to the feeding program. In
addition to this, the Bukal elementary school also continues to conduct a vegetable
garden in the school to source fresh vegetables that can be added to the meals of
the beneficiaries of the feeding. Hot soup, noodles, or porridge are some of the foods
that are fed to its beneficiaries.
In addition to feeding nutritious food, we also provide health education to expand
the community's knowledge about the importance of proper nutrition, not only for
temporary help but also to promote a long-term solution to the problem of
malnutrition among children.
