 RULES & REGULATIONS
GENERAL RULES-
1. All participants shall carry an identity card approved by the college.
2. The participant(s) not carrying identity cards shall not be allowed to participate in the
concerned event.
3. All the teams/participants should report at the venue an hour before of scheduled time for the
commencement of the event.
4. The decision of the Judges shall be final.
5. Props, dresses, stationery, special equipment, etc will not be provided by the organizer.
6. Organizers will not be responsible for the loss of any personal belongings of the participants.
7. Any participants found involved in acts of indiscipline or misconduct shall be liable for
disciplinary action.
8. PRELIMINARY ROUNDS WILL BE HELD ONLINE

MUSIC
1. Solo Singing
 Individual Participation
 The duration of the performance should be no longer than 6 minutes, including
stage setup.
 Language is not a factor in the selection of songs.
 Participants must submit their BGM/karaoke tracks in advance.
 A maximum of two instrumentalists may accompany a vocalist.
 Judgment criteria- song selection, voice quality, range/pitch, Rhythm/tempo, and
overall impression.
 Violation of the rules will lead to disqualification.

2. Rap Battle
 The duration of the performance shall be between 3-4 minutes.
 Prelims will be held online whereas, the final event will be held offline at the
venue.
 Language is not a bar in the selection of songs for participants.
 Negative marking on the use of any abusive language.
 There will be two rounds. The first round will be individual and the second
will be a faceoff.

DANCE
1. Solo Dance (Classical)
 No song restrictions, participants can choose Bollywood songs.

2. Folk Dance (Group)

• Team size should be a minimum of 6 members and a maximum of 15 members.

• Performance should be in between 6-10 minutes.
• The judge's decision will be the final call.
• There should be no vulgarity in the performance.
• Proper costume and makeup are necessary.

3. Group Dance (Western)

• team size should be a minimum of 8 members and a maximum of 25 members.
• No song restrictions, participants can choose Bollywood songs.
• Performance should be in between 6 - 10 minutes.

LITERARY
1. Stand-up
 Individual participation
 Time limit: 4-5 minutes
 Participants will be judged on the basis of content, fluency, spontaneity, presentation
& and sense of humor.
 No participant can point out any individual or religion in any way and any dual-
meaning obscene content is strictly not allowed.

  Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.

2. Poetry
 Individual participation.
 Time Limit: 4+1 minutes.
 Only original works are to be recited.
 Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.

3. Debate (Group)
 Each team will consist of two members, out of which one will speak for and the other
against the motion.
 Maximum time limit: 3 + 1 minutes.
 Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.

4. Just-A-Minute
 Individual participation only
 Exceeding the time limit (1 min) will lead to a negative marking.

5. RJ Hunt
 Participants have to Prepare their Scripts on Social Issues prevailing in society.
 The time limit is 120 sec for each contestant, exceeding which can lead to
Disqualification.
 Use of indecent words and foul language will lead to disqualification.
 Judgment on the basis of the following parameters- Spontaneity, Voice Modulation,
Content, Command over the language, presentation, Confidence, and Audience
engagement.
 The judge’s decision would be final and binding.
 Exceeding the Time Limits will Lead to Disqualification.

DRAMATICS
1. Mono Acting
 TIME LIMIT:- 3-4 minutes
 Online registration is compulsory. No On spot registration is allowed.
 Costumes and props to be arranged by the participating team themselves.
 The production can either be in English, Hindi or Both.
 Musical instruments (If any) to be arranged and music to be brought in a pen-drive by
the participant. However, in the case of live music, organizers have to be notified
beforehand and the organizers will not take any responsibility for its safety/ security of
personal equipment brought by them.
 Decisions of the judges shall be final and binding.

2. Street Play (Group)
• The theme of the play must clearly illustrate and reveal a social issue.
• A team should consist of 12-23 members.
• The timing of the play shall not exceed 22 minutes. Violating the rule will lead to a
negative marking.
• Warning bell: 20 min
• Final bell: 22 min
• Teams can use English/Hindi/Urdu. Foul language is prohibited.
• Maximum number of teams will be 10, hence the selection of the team will be based on
a first come first served basis.
• Usage of their own banners, posters, musical instruments, and props are allowed and are
to be carried by the teams themselves. The usage of electrical instruments is prohibited.
• The event will be held in an open area and mics, lights, or any such electrical
instruments won't be provided by the host college. Usage of makeup is permitted.
• All the teams must take responsibility for their own assets.
• Decisions made by the judges shall be final and binding.

FASHION & LIFESTYLE

1. Mr. & Ms. Varchasva
• 1 girl for Ms. Varchasva and 1 boy for Mr. Varchasva.
• The finals will have a walk round, an introduction round, a talent round and a question-
answer round.
• Selection will be done by eminent personalities in the field of art and culture.
• No outsiders allowed

2. Fashion Parade
• All the participants of a team must be of the same college.
• Minimum 20 to a maximum of 25 participants (including one person in charge of music
and one for lights)
• On-stage time for each team is limited to a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 15
minutes.
• The stage should not remain empty for more than a minute in between the sequence.
• Judgment will be based on presentation, walk, dressing, and attitude.
• Music system will be provided. The teams are expected to bring their own piece of
music for the sequence.
• All clothes and accessories are to be arranged for by the participating team. The
organizing committee is responsible only for the infrastructural facilities.
• Any form of obscenity will result in disqualification of the team from further
participation.
• Any fault with the track is not our responsibility.

 PHOTOGRAPHY

1. Klick- Klick
• Every type of camera is allowed such as phone camera, digital camera, DSLR, and SLR.
• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
• No personal watermarks will be accepted.
• Your clicks should not be obscene, offensive or derogatory.
• Editing is strictly prohibited.
• Individual entry only.
• Use of any camera app is strictly prohibited, only use your phone’s stock camera.

FINE ARTS

1. Poster Making Competition

• Individual participation only.
• Poster should only be made using: Coral Draw, photoshop, or illustrator.
• Submit your designs online by 03/12/23 on the Google form that will be shared shortly.
• You have to attach the cdr/psd/Ai file with jpeg/png.

2. Rangoli Making competition

 Individual participation only.
 The event will be organized in offline mode.
 There will be only one round of competition.
 The participants have to bring their own material.
 Only colors and flowers can be used for making rangoli.
 The participants will be given 2 hrs for making rangoli.
 No extra time will be given in any case.

3. Face-Making Competition
 Participants are required to bring their own model.
 Participants should bring their own colors, brushes etc.
 Time limit is 60 minutes.
 Topic will be given on the spot.
 Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, and design.
 The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

 Participants should bring their own nail paints, brushes etc.
 Time limit is 60 minutes.

During Varchasva'23, I took on a key role managing the documentation work at both the college
and Dilli Haat location. From morning till night on both days, I ensured all works related to
documentation, has executed successfully, and made the fest more exciting. It was more than just
a job; it allowed me to represent the event, making sure everyone enjoyed exploring the diverse
stalls.

I can relate my work of how the list should be prepared, and brought enthusiasm to ensure each
stall reflected Varchasva'23's spirit. It wasn't just about making the documents; it was about
creating a welcoming vibe, building connections, and being a driving force behind the fest's
lively atmosphere. My efforts aimed to make each stall unique and memorable for every visitor.

In the end, Varchasva'23 was a success, and I played an essential role, not only in documentation
work but in creating an unforgettable experience for everyone attending the fest.
