DYM3 Air Box Barometer Atmospheric Pressure Weather Aneroid Barometer

For Weather Stations And Other Departments

General Introduction
DYM3 type empty box barometer is an atmospheric pressure measuring instrument
with deformation element as sensing. It is widely used in meteorology, military,
aviation, navigation, agriculture, surveying, geology, industrial and mining
enterprises, scientific research and other fields due to its advantages such as
convenient carrying, accurate measurement, wide pressure measurement range,
easy use and maintenance, and no mercury pollution. Conventional instruments of
atmospheric pressure.

Working Principle
The empty box barometer uses a thin film empty box made of elastic metal as a
sensing element, which converts atmospheric pressure into an elastic displacement
of the empty box, and drives the pointer through a lever and a transmission
mechanism. When deflected in a clockwise direction, the pointer indicates the
amount of change in the increase in air pressure, on the contrary, when the pointer
deflects in the counterclockwise direction, it indicates the amount of change in the
decrease in air pressure. When the elastic stress of the empty box is balanced with
the atmospheric pressure, the pointer stops rotating, and the air pressure value
indicated by the pointer at this time is the current atmospheric pressure value.

Technical Performance and Specifications

1. Measuring range: 800~1064hpa
2. Operating temperature range: -10~+40℃
3. The measurement error after temperature, indication and supplementary
correction is not more than 2.0hpa
4. The minimum score of the indicating plate: 1hpa
5. Minimum score with temperature meter: 1℃
6. Instrument weight: not more than 1.5Kg
7. Instrument size: 156mm*156mm*115mm

Instructions
1. When using, please place the empty box barometer horizontally.
2. For reading, please tap the case or surface glass of the instrument gently with
your fingers to eliminate friction in the transmission mechanism.
3. When observing, the pointer overlaps with the mirror pointer. At this time, the
value pointed by the pointer is the pressure value, and the reading is accurate to one
decimal place.
4. Read the temperature indicated on the barometer, accurate to one decimal place.
5. Calculation of the pressure value: The pressure value read on the instrument can
only be used after the following corrections.
1. Temperature correction: Due to the change of ambient temperature, it will affect

The temperature correction value can be calculated as follows: △Pt=a.t where △Pt--
the elasticity of the instrument metal, so temperature correction must be carried out.

temperature correction value a--temperature coefficient value (attached on the

verification certificate) t--temperature meter reading
2. Indication correction, due to the non-linearity of the empty box and its
transmission, an indication error will occur when the air pressure changes, so it must
be corrected. Calculation method: Correct the indicated value according to the
indication on the calibration certificate, within the range of the corresponding air

value △ps
pressure indicated value: Use interpolation to calculate the value to correct indicated

3. Supplementary correction: In order to eliminate the influence of the remaining

value △pd is obtained from the verification certificate

The corrected air pressure value can be shown by the following formula: p=ps+
(△pt+△ps+△pd)

Precautions
1. The instrument must be placed horizontally when working to prevent reading
errors caused by tilt.
2. The user must not take out the instrument in the plastic casing to avoid
unnecessary damage. If there is any fault, please send it to the meteorological
measurement agency or work for repair.
3. As the supplementary correction value of the instrument changes over time, the
supplementary correction value shall not exceed the six-month period of use. If it
exceeds, the verification must be performed again.
5.4 The user is not allowed to move the adjustment screw without authorization, so
as not to increase the error of the instrument.
