Dev Installer Overview

DEV Installer is designed to help developers and Regression testers for preparing the UTP area as per
their requirements. Below are the brief description of various functionalities covered by the tool:

 Users can download the UTP Area, extract and configure them automatically by providing
the download URL and configuration details
 Regression backup can be extracted and moved to the UTP directory along with the
configurations required for Pre-primary
 Sanity test is also available for the user to test the UTP home directory for any issues
 Maintenance backups can the extracted and packed with the user defined folder paths

This application will be helpful to avoid missing configurations and Product primary failures due to
manual area setup

1. Hardware Configuration
Desktop or Laptop with the configuration
 Windows 7 or Above
 Number of Processors – 4 or Above
 16GB RAM

2. Software Configuration
 UTP Dev package
 DEV Installer jar/exe
 Java version 1.8 or above
 JAVA_HOME should be set properly

3. Installation Procedures
 Users can directly click the jar file to launch DEV Installer window application.

4. Working with Dev Installer


Dev Installer is a standalone desktop application as part of PrePrimary to prepare the UTP area
based on the developer’s/tester’s requirements. Below are the detailed description about the
functionalities covered in the Installer.

4.1 UTP Download, Extract & Configure

Step 1: Launch DEV Installer by double clicking the jar file to open the application. Click the first
option to download UTP/Extract/Configure.

Step 2: Provide the UTP Download URL (Refer Figure 3 for copying the download URL) and Extract
Location where you want to extract the UTP Temenos folder

Navigate to http://utp.temenosgroup.com/Downloads and copy the UTP Package India link address

Step 3: Choose atleast one options from the below checkbox and submit to start the process.
If the changes configuration is selected, properties dropdown will be displayed along with the
Standard changes as below. User can added any property key and value if required and submit.

Step 4: On clicking submit, the application will start the process and the status will be displayed in the
Status console box as below. We will be notified with the window notification when the process gets

Step 5: User can also refer in the extract location for the Temenos folder and other files getting
Created. The duration of this process may vary based on the download speed and the system speed.

The average time taken if the user selected all the 3 checkboxes is around 40 minutes.

Step 6: Configuration of h2 1.4 can be by applied by selecting “Apply config for h2 1.4” check box.
This option makes the area compatible for h2 1.4 database.

4.2 Extract Regression Backup & Configure

The input for the second option will be the User UTP Temenos folder path and the regression backup
(Tar.gz file). It will extract the regression backup and move them to the Temenos folder and perform
basic configurations required for the Product primary. Below are the steps:

Step 1:
a) Choose the Regression backup file(gz file) and the Temenos folder path
b) Select the required files to extract and move to the UTP pack as below
c) Some of the mandatory war files are already available in Mandatory war area. If required user
can drag and drop the other wars from optional to Mandatory

Step 2: Click Extract & Pack to start the extraction and configuration of the Temenos directory. The
status will be displayed to the user along with the completion percentage as below:

Note: Before starting Extract & Pack, make sure all the applications such as EDS, command.bat, H2,
Jboss, etc. from the specified Temenos directory is closed.

4.3 Sanity Testing

The next section is to perform sanity testing of the Temenos directory. The basic checks on the UTP

Area will be performed with respect to Product primary and the results will be displayed to the user.
This process is light weight and may take less than 10seconds to complete.

 Provide the temenos directory path and click test. The test will be performed in background
and the final results will be displayed to the user as below:

4.4 Maintenance Packager

 Maintenance packager is introduced in DEV Installer to perform backup extraction and


packaging with the customised release wise user profiles
 It has a built-in database for storing profiles which makes the tool more reliable and user-
friendly
 User can choose the profiles anytime and perform the packaging process
 The existing components backup and the extraction process are similar to the Extract
Regression Backup section

Workflow

Step 1: Select Add New Profile from the dropdown if you want to create a new profile.
Choose the release and profile name.
Step 2: Provide the folder paths for the required components and save.

Note: At least one component should be added for saving the profile to database

Step 3: Provide the maintenance backup path and choose a profile from the dropdown

Step 4: Profile table will be listed with the components and their folder path. Path field is
Editable, if required you can modify the path

Step 5: Choose the required components for packaging. Components backup can be taken
automatically by selecting the checkbox. Click Extract & Pack
