Should Kids Be Allowed More Screen
Time?
What if I told you that the time you spend on screens could either make you
smarter or hold you back? Which one would you choose?
Wishing you all a wonderful morning. I am Ronal Gamage, here to talk about
whether kids should be allowed more screen time.
First, let’s think about why screen time can be helpful. Screens help us learn
new things. There are fun apps that teach us math, science, or even how to
play the piano. We can watch videos to explore the world, learn about space,
or discover cool science experiments. Plus, it’s a great way to stay in touch with
friends and family who live far away.
But too much screen time isn’t always a good thing. Have you ever felt your
eyes hurt after watching TV for too long? Or maybe you stayed up late playing a
game and felt tired the next day. Too much screen time can make it harder to
sleep, keep us from playing outside, and even stop us from spending time with
family and friends.
So, what can we do? We can set limits on how long we use screens. For
example, 1 or 2 hours a day is enough for fun and learning. We can also take
breaks every 30 minutes to rest our eyes and stretch. And instead of just
watching videos, we can use screens to create something new, like a drawing or
a story!
At the end, screen time is both helpful and fun, but it’s important to use it
wisely. Too much of anything is not good for us, and the same goes for screens
too. So, how will you balance your screen time today?
Thank you for listening! Have a blissful morning!
