LITERARY EVENTS
ESSAY WRITING
1. There must be two entry per team.
2. The Head Master will provide the topics of the essay at the venue of the
competition
3. The essay shall be written in English in not less than 600 words but not
more than 800 words. Corresponding deduction will be given to entries
that did not reach the minimum number of words.
4. The contestants shall be given two (2) hours to develop a composition.
5. The contestants shall be provided with writing paper, a pen and their
corresponding number.
6. The contestants will use a number on their paper. The same number will
be written on another piece of paper together with their real name and
college. This will be used for verification of the winners.
7. No books, materials, dictionaries and the like shall be brought inside the
contest venue.
8. No person shall be allowed inside the contest venue except the
contestants and organizers.
9. The result of the contest will be posted on the tally board immediately
after the judges have finished rating them.
10.The judging of the entries will be based on the following criteria:

kukulangin sa 1,000. May karampatang bawas limang (5) puntos sa ang
kukulang o sosobra sa salita.
4. Ang mga kalahok ay bibigyan lamang ng 2 oras sa pagbuo ng diwa o
komposisyon.

STORY TELLING
1. There must be two entries per team.
2. There will be ten (1) official contest pieces that will be provided for
selection of the contestants.
3. The story should be appropriate to the target audience (College
Students). The time limit shall correspond to the piece chosen.
4. Appropriate attire with moral and ethical standards is required.
5. No sound effects, background, or props are allowed to support the
story.
6. The story must be delivered from memory and movement is confined to
either sitting or standing throughout the delivery.
7. Judge’s decision is final.

QUIZ BOWL
(Philippine Government, History, Geography and Culture)
1. Questions shall be prepared by the Quiz Master.
2. Each college is entitled to three (3) contestants composing a team, who
are bona fide students of the college. One official alternate will be
allowed.
3. Contestants will answer the same set of questions in writing. Before a
question is read, the contestant must raise their right hand. Each team
will be provided with an illustration board, chalk, and erases.
4. The question will be read twice by the Quizmaster. After the second
reading, the Quizmaster shall say “go” – only the will the team be
allowed to write the answer. Automatically, the ten-second time limit
will begin with the word “go” by the Quizmaster. If a question requires
enumerations, the time limit will be extended to five (5) more seconds.
5. After the time limit, a buzzer will sound; the team should stop writing
and raise their slates.
6. The facilitators will go around and check the answer of the teams.
7. The contest has two (2) rounds, Round 1 and Round 2, twenty (20)
questions will be asked. Each question is worth one (1) point. After
asking the twenty (2) questions, the Quizmaster announces the top five
(5) who will advance to round two (2). If there is a tie for the fifth (5 th)
place, both will advance to the next round.
8. Twenty (20) questions will be asked in the second (2 nd) round., by this
time, two (2) points will be assigned for each correct answer.
9. After the twentieth (20th) question, the three (3) teams getting the
highest scores in Round 1 and Round 2 will be declared the Champion,
1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up. Since there are only three (3) places,
should there be a tie, extra questions will be asked by the Quizmaster to
break the tie.
10.The duly registered coach of the team is the only person authorized to
make a protest. All protests should be referred to the Quizmaster.
PHILIPPINE STATISTICS QUIZ BEE
The PSQ is open to all Filipino first-time college freshies currently enrolled
in the First Semester for the school year 2024-2025. First-time college
freshies are those who have enrolled for not more than one semesters (or
its equivalent term) in college. Each college is entitled to three (3)
contestants composing a team, who are bona fide students of the college.
One official alternate will be allowed.
1. The competition will run for three (3) rounds. Each round consists of 10
questions: ten (10) EASY questions with 1 point each (EASY ROUND),
ten (10) AVERAGE questions with 2 points each (AVERAGE ROUND)
and five (5) DIFFICULT questions with 4 points each (DIFFICULT
ROUND).
2. Each question will be flashed on a projector in which the quizmaster will
have to read it twice. After reading the question twice, the quizmaster
will say GO and that will be the only time that the contestant will start
to solve and answer. The contestant will have to write the correct
answer on the provided piece of bondpapers.
3. At the end of the time limit, the quizmaster will say STOP and the
contestants will be asked to hold up their papers all at the same time.
The chairman of the board of judges will give the right answer and the
quizmaster will ask the contestants to raise their slate boards. After all
the cards are raised and correct answer is given by the judges, the
quizmaster will ask those contestants whose wrong answers to put
down their cards to make it easier for the tabulators to mark and tally
the scores of the participants with correct answers. NOBODY WILL BE
ALLOWED TO RAISE HIS/HER CARD ANEW ONCE PUT DOWN.
Late or delayed rising of slate boards beyond the time allowed for each
question will penalized with zero scores as determined by the board of
judges. The board of judges has the full authority to impose penalty for
any form of cheating, i.e. signals from the audience, looking at other
team’s answer and similar infractions. Penalty can range from zero
score to disqualification from the competition.
4. The participants who garnered the top two highest scores will be
declared winners.
5. In case of a tie, such tie will be broken under a sudden death format
through difficult questions to be given by the board of judges.
6. Scores will be tabulated throughout the competition. Results at the end
of the competition will be submitted to the board of judges. The
chairman of the board of judges will announce the contestants who
have garnered the top two highest scorers. They will be representing
the college in the Campus Statistics Quiz Exhibition Game on October
20, 2023 at the CICS Conference Hall.
SOCIO CULTURAL EVENTS
ON-THE-SPOT POSTER MAKING
1. The poster must be based on the theme provided by College Socio-
Cultural Coodinator.
2. The contestant must bring his/her own painting brushes, easel,
mixing plate, palette and rugs. Any kind of brush will be allowed. All
other competition materials will be provided by the host institution
3. The contestant will use water-based paint (acrylic). Materials will be
provided by the organizers. Only the three primary colors (red, blue
and yellow) and two neutral colors (black and white) shall be allowed.
4. Mixing of colors is allowed.
5. The contestants will use the 17” x 20” canvass which will be provided
by the host institution.
6. The contest duration is for a period of four (4) hours.
7. Only the contestants are allowed in the contest venue.
8. No distinguishing mark or name of the constant shall appear in the
entry.
9. Contestants will wear colored/campus shirt or any appropriate attire.
Contest output (artworks) will be the property of the College for
reference.

PHOTO CONTEST
1. The contestant will provide and use digital camera (DSLR/Mirrorless).
2. The setting of camera will be provided by the head master.
3. The photo subject will be provided by the head master.
4. Editing of photo/picture is not allowed, edited photo will be
disqualified.
5. The picture/photo must be taken/shoot by the contestant.
6. The contestants will submit a raw + jpeg file of his/her entry
together with an entry form together with a title.
7. The contestant may use any aperture (F stop), shutter speed & ISO.
8. The organizers/facilitator will print the pictures/photo upon
verification of entry.
9. The contest duration is for a period of one (1) hour.
10.Only the contestants are allowed in the contest venue.
11.Contestants will wear colored/campus shirt or any appropriate attire.
12. The contestants may take as many shots as he/she can however
will only submit his/her BEST shot as official entry. The contestants
will be given a maximum of 15 minutes to select his/her best shot
before submitting to the head master or contest facilitators.

Guidelines for Standard Choral Singing
1. There shall be 16 to 20 members per group, who are all bona fide
students of the University.
2. Each choral group will sing one official contest piece “Butchikik” by
Yoyoy Villame. Score piece should be in acapella. Warm up song
should be Original Pilipino Music (OPM) open entry: means either
Filipino or English in any song classification / genre.
3. Warm-up song is not included in the judging.
4. Medley for warm up song is not allowed.
5. The voice composition for both pieces: Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and
Basses
6. No alteration of notes for obligatory part and strictly observe and follow
score pieces.
7. Maximum allowable time is 12 minutes. An excess of a minute or a
fraction thereof means a deduction of 5 points per judge.
8. Time starts on the first note and ends on the last note.
9. Choreography is not allowed.
10. Attire will be school uniform for both male and female.
Leather shoes for males and high heel for females with brushed
up hair in a bun.
11. The use of wired condenser microphones, choir microphones will
depend on the venue and should not be rearranged.
12. Submit four (4) copies of warm up song on schedule for screening of
documents.

1. The dance must be taken from the published Philippine Folk Dances
authored by known dance- researcher-writer published in the books
listed below. The following are the specific titles of the books:

b. Philippine National Dance by Francisca R. Tolentino
c. Visayan Folk Dance, Volumes 1-3, by Libertad Fajardo

actual performers will strictly follow the maximum of 8 pairs.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE
1. The contest piece must be at least four (4) minutes but not more than
five (5) minutes.
2. The theme of the Contemporary Dance is “Fire”.
3. A maximum of ten (10) and a minimum of six (6) dancers are allowed
to participate.
4. The dance piece should be an original choreography in
contemporary Form, it should not copy any movement found
in any media source. An affidavit must be secured on the
originality of the choreography to be submitted to the organizers.
5. Soft ballet shoes or pointe shoes may be worn (optional)
6. Sets are not allowed (e.g. risers, back drop, tables, etc.). Hand props
may be used (e.g. stick, fan, ring, umbrella, etc.). Bamboo, wood,
steel or plastic pole may be used but must not be more than 3
meters long.
The following are strictly not allowed in the performance:
a. The use of real fighting armor (e.g. sword, knife, guns, arrow, spears,
etc…)
b. The use of any form of liquid (e.g. blood, oil, water, etc.)
c. The use of fire, candles and any pyrotechnic materials.
d. The use of confetti either drop or bomb.
e. Breaking of glass, pots, etc…
f. Audio visual presentation or screen projection.
g. Body paint
7. Costume must be appropriate to the concept of the dance. Skin
toned cycling, leggings, or leotard are allowed. Nudity or topless
for both male and female is strictly prohibited.
8. Obscene choreography/indecent movements and killing of animals
are strictly prohibited. Tossing will not be allowed.
9. Violation of any of these contest guidelines will result to disqualification
of the participating group.
10. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

MR. AND MS. CHASS 2024
1. Each program will send only one (1) male and one (1) female
contestant to compete.
2. Each candidate must be
a. a bona fide student of the institution
b. Is of good moral character – who is single, not in a live-in
relationship and must not have sire any child.
c. Is at least eighteen (18) and not more than twenty-six
(26) years of age on the day of the competition and
stands 5’2” tall for female and 5’5’’ for males.
3. Official Coach and Authorized Pageant Organizers are the only
persons allowed in the backstage. The head master and
production manager will manage and monitor the activities of the
candidates at the pageant venues. Assigned backstage
chaperones are the only persons allowed to assist the candidates
in changing the attires.
4. A corresponding point of 3,2,1 to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placers
shall be added to the overall points of the Campus in the Overall
Tally.
5. The competition will be divided into six (6) categories:
a. Production Number (Casual Wear/ best dress white in color)

c. One-piece Black Swimwear
d. Barong and Modern Filipiniana
e. Final Question and Answer Portion
6. For the Question and Answer Portion.
a. The ability to answer questions will be based on the
depth, meaning and substance of the answer given by
the candidates.
b. The candidates may respond to the question either in English
or Filipino.
7. The criteria for judging are the following:
a. Poise and personal bearing.
b. Projection of womanhood and manhood.
c. Appropriateness of the attire (color/cut of the fabric
and accessories worn must suit the individual).
d. Stage deportment
e. Overall impact
8. Determination of winners will be based on ranking system. In
cases where a tie occurs, deliberation between the members
of the board of judges will be done to break the tie.
9. Candidates, coaches who violate rules, regulations and guidelines
of the competition will be declared as non-competing candidates.
10.The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

1. Eligibility/ Qualification of Athletes
1.1 players must be a bona fide student of the College they represent
and are officially enrolled in the regular semester or term of the
current academic year with a minimum of 12 units.
1.2 Athletes more than twenty-five (25) years of age by May
31 of the current academic year are allowed to play but
will not be allowed to play in the higher meet.
1.3 Foreign students are qualified to participate in the Competitions.
Only those with Filipino blood (dual citizenship e.g. Fil- Am) are
qualified to join in the higher meet.
1.4 A team fielding ineligible players in a competition shall be
