Definition
কান্বরা সান্বে কো িন্বল তার সমেথে জাোর জন্য অেিা sentence – এর সতযতা যাচাই করার
জন্য sentence এর নিন্বষ নয প্রশ্ন নযাগ করা হয় তান্বক Tag Question িন্বল ।
Example:
1) You are a student of class 9, aren't you?
2) Kamal is my brother, Isn't he?
3) They are playing cricket, aren't they?
Tag Forms
Negative Tag এর জন্য Operator + not এ সাংশক্ষপ্ত রুপ িন্বস।

Rules of Tag Questions
Rule-1:
প্রদত্ত sentence শট হ্াাঁ নিাধক হন্বল Tag করার সময় ো নিাধক হন্বি। sentence শট ো নিাধক
হন্বল Tag করার সময় হ্াাঁ নিাধক হন্বি। নযমে-
i. He goes to school daily, doesn't he?
ii. Birds cannot swim, can they?
Rule-2:
প্রদত্ত sentence এ Auxiliary verb (am, is, are, was, were, have, had, has, do,
does, did, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, had to, dare, need)
োকন্বল Tag করার সময় Auxiliary verb + (not) + sub এ pronoun হন্বি। নযমে-
i. They were playing cricket, weren’t they?
ii. We must obey our parents, mustn't we?
Rule-3:
Sentence শট past indefinite tense হন্বল Did শদন্বয় প্রশ্ন হন্বি, আর present
indefinite tense হন্বল Do িা Does (not) শদন্বয় প্রশ্ন হন্বি। নযমে:
i. They play football every afternoon, don't they?
ii. Babu plays cricket, doesn't he?
iii. Asif went to stadium to watch the cricket match, didn't he?
Rule-4:
নকান্বো sentence এর subject শহন্বসন্বি everyone, everybody, someone,
somebody, anyone, anybody, none, nobody, োকন্বল এন্বদর pronoun they হয়।
Tag করার সময় They অনুযায়ী Auxiliary verb িসান্বত হন্বি। নযমে-

i. Everybody wants happiness, don’t they?
ii. Every student wants GPA, don't they?
Rule-5:
Sentence এ subject শহন্বসন্বি all of us, us, everyone, of us োকন্বল Tag করার সময়
এন্বদর পশরিন্বতথ we হয়। নযমে-
i. All of us are writing, aren't we?
ii. Some of us are absent today, aren't we?
Rule-6:
Sentence এ subject শহন্বসন্বি common gender োকন্বল এন্বদর পশরিন্বতথ he িন্বস, শকন্তু
শিশু োকন্বল it িন্বস। নযমে-
i. The teacher is teaching us, isn't he?
ii. Man is mortal, is not he?
iii. The baby is crying, isn’t it?
Rule-7:
Sentence এ subject শহন্বসন্বি জড়িস্তু, ইতর প্রাণী, শিশু োকন্বল Tag করার সময় propnoun
শহন্বসন্বি it িন্বস। নযমে-
i. The baby is crying, isn't it?
ii. My pen writes well, doesn't it?
iii. A barking dog seldom bites, does it?
Rule-8:
sentence এর subject শহন্বসন্বি চাাঁদ, সূযথ, পৃশেিী, েদী, িড় জাহাজ, নেে, নদি, নেশরর োম
োকন্বল এন্বদর পশরিন্বতথ she িন্বস। নযমে:

i. Bangladesh is my motherland, isn't she?
ii. The moon seen at night, isn't she?
iii. The earth is round, is not she?
iv. The Titanic sank, didn't she?
Note:
sink – িস্তু িাচক নকান্বো শকছু ডুন্বি যাওয়া
Drown- প্রাণী িাচক নকান্বো শকছু ডুন্বি যাওয়া
Rule-9:
Sentence এর subject শহন্বসন্বি There এিাং one োকন্বল Tag করার সময় there এিাং one
অপশরিশতথত োন্বক। নযমে-
i. One should do ones duty, shouldn’t one?
ii. There are three primary school in our village, aren't there?
Rule-10:
Sentence এর subject শহন্বসন্বি Let us, Let's োকন্বল tag করার সময় শুধু shall we হয়।
নযমে-
i. Let us make a picnic, shall we?
ii. Let us visit cox's Bazar, shall we?
Rule-11:
Imperative sentence যশদ verb শদন্বয় শুরু হয় তন্বি Tag করার সময় affermative িা
negative sentence উভয় নক্ষন্বে will িন্বস। নযমে-
i. Don't make a noise in the class, will you?

ii. Answer the following questions, will you?
Rule-12:
Never, no, nobody, hardly, seldom, scarcely, few, little etc. negative অেথ
প্রদাে কন্বর, তাই এ সকল word িযিহৃত sentence এর Tag করার সময় positive Tag
করন্বত হন্বি। নযমে-
i. A banking dog seldom bites, does it?
ii. He hardly came here, did he?
iii. He scarcely does his duties, does he?
Rule- 13:
যশদ Imperative sentence শট verb দ্বারা শুরু হয় এিাং তার দ্বারা অনুন্বরাধ নিাঝায়
তাহন্বল Tag করার সময় can you / could you িযিহৃত হয়। নযমে-
i. Help me please, can you?
ii. Give me an apple, can you?
Rule-14:
Sentence এর subject শহন্বসন্বি this, that োকন্বল এন্বদর পশরিন্বতথ it হয়, এিাং These ও
those এর পশরিন্বতথ they হয়। নযমে-
i. This is a pen, isn't it?
ii. That is a fan, isn't it?
iii. These are my book, aren't they?
Rule-15:
To + verb অেথযাৎ infinitive verb + ing অেথযাৎ gerund নকান্বো sentence এর subject
শহন্বসন্বি োকন্বল Tag করার পশরিন্বতথ এন্বদর পশরিন্বতথ it িন্বস। নযমে-

i. To tell a lie is a great sin, isn't it?
ii. To err is human, isn't it?
Rule-16:
নকান্বো sentence এ subject শহন্বসন্বি the father (শপতৃত্ব), the mother (মাতৃত্ব), the
brother (ভ্রাতৃত্ব) োকন্বল Tag করার সময় এন্বদর পশরিন্বতথ it িন্বস। নযমে-
i. The father rises in him, doesn't it?
Rule-17:
Sentence এর Subject শহন্বসন্বি As well as / along with / accmpanied by োকন্বল
Tag করার সময় নয subject োকন্বি নস অনুযায়ী pronoun হন্বি। নযমে-
i. Adnan along will his mother went to market, didn't he?
ii. I as well as Karim took meal, didnot I?
Rule-18:
Adjective যখে নকাে শিন্বিষ নেশণন্বক নিাঝায়, তখে তার পূন্বিথ the িন্বস। এরূপ
নেশণিাচক Adjective নকাে Statement sentence এর Subject হন্বল এর Pronoun
শহন্বসন্বি Tag question এ they িন্বস। নযমে-
i. The rich are not always happy, ate they?
ii. The virtuous are happy, aren't they?
