Transition Activity
Activity 1 - Scratch Programming
You are to build a simple game of PacMan in Scratch
You will create:
a simple maze
create a pacman sprite that can move up, down, left and right using the
arrow keys on your keyboard
create 5 cherry sprites and one banana sprite
If your pacman touches the wall of the maze it will bounce backwards
If your pacman touches the cherry sprite, the sprite will disappear and your
score will go up by 10
If your pacman touches the banana sprite your score will go up by 50
If your score reaches 100 your game will display ‘game over’
As evidence you will include:
A word document containing screenshots of your game working
A word document containing screenshots of your scratch code. We also require that
you document your code so that you can tell us how it works.

Activity 2 – Simple PowerPoint Skills
You will be required to create a simple animated PowerPoint showing how to use
Scratch as a help guide. Your PowerPoint will be aimed as a teaching resource for
Year 8 students. You will be required to provide:
A four slide PowerPoint showing how to create sprites in Scratch
The PowerPoint will clearly show how to drag and drop code blocks into the
code editor
The PowerPoint will clearly show how to move the pacman sprite
You will need to provide evidence of animations within slides to show how to
drag and drop code blocks in scratch
You will provide evidence of transitioning between slides
You will use a consistent look and feel that you will create yourself and you will
not use any of the inbuilt themes in PowerPoint
