Software Developer Needed
Job Title: Database Developer
Location: Omnisport, Yaounde, Cameroon
Job Type: Onsite, 6-12 months
Job Description:
We are a company in the healthcare sector, involved in the supply and servicing of medical
devices, headquartered in Omnisport, Yaounde Cameroon. We are seeking a highly skilled
Database Engineer to manage and optimize the data infrastructure for our proprietary
software. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining
databases using SQL, MySQL, SQLite, and Sequelize. The role also involves creating visual data
representations and managing the deployment of database systems This is a critical role in
ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability for our applications.
Responsibilities:
Create and optimize database schemas for performance, scalability, and reliability
using MySQL and SQLite.
Develop and maintain ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and availability across all
systems.
Use Sequelize to design and manage database relationships and interact with APIs for
backend integration.
Create interactive and dynamic charts using Chart.js to represent critical metrics and
analytics for end users.
Analyze and optimize database queries to ensure system efficiency and speed.
Manage database deployments including backups, disaster recovery, and patch
management.
Work closely with software developers to define database requirements and
troubleshoot issues.
Maintain detailed documentation for database structures, configurations, and
processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
o Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database systems such as MySQL and
SQLite.
o Hands-on experience with Sequelize as an ORM tool.
o Knowledge of data visualization tools, especially Chart.js.
o Familiarity with server environments for database management and
deployment.
o Ability to optimize queries, indexes, and database performance.

Experience:
o Experience as a database engineer or similar role.
o Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining database systems for
enterprise applications.
o Experience in integrating databases with backend services and front-end
visualizations.
Soft Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
environment.
o Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and resolving potential issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with other ORM tools beyond Sequelize.
Experience with database clustering and replication techniques.
Knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption and access
control.
Exposure to cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
