Introduction
A new employee has joined the company and you are tasked with creating a user account for him on the Cisco
UCM. Your boss has also asked you to investigate if the integration between Cisco UCM and Active Directory has
been done, and complete and test the implementation so moving forward user accounts will not need to be created
locally, but rather replicated from Active Directory.

This lab will take approximately 40 minutes to complete.

Task 1:

Create local user account in Cisco UCM and add to the Standard CCM End User group.

Create a new user (using any values for username and password).
Scroll to the bottom to find the group section to add the user to the Standard CCM End User group.

Create a new credential policy that locks the user account if 5 unsuccessful logins are attempted. The
Administrator should be the only one able to re-enable the user account in this circumstance. Associate this new
policy with the user account created in Task 1.

Create a new credential policy.


Change the “Failed Logon” to 5.
Select the “Administrator must unlock” checkbox.
Open the user account you created in Task 1 and associate this new credential policy to the user.

LDAP configuration and authentication has been configured but isn’t working. Fix the problems and ensure users
are synchronized with the correct access control group assigned and ensure users can log into the end user
portal. The LDAP settings can be found in the Credentials tab.
The following issues need to be fixed.

LDAP User Search Base in LDAP Directory page is incorrect. Have to delete LDAP Directory and re-add to
fix.
