Q) Write a dialogue between you and the forest officer regarding the climatic
changes due to global warming.
Ans:
Title: The Alarming Effects of Global Warming.
[Introduction: It’s a wonderful afternoon where we see two well established
friends, Mainak Ghosh, an environmentalist, and Jagreeti Dutta, a forest officer
who have come for a vacation in a place which is surrounded by beautiful and
lush green forest and they are walking side by side after lunch in the forest
where birds are chirping and trees are rustling in the wind. They were having
their brisk walking and discussing about various topics.]
Mr. Ghosh: [Looking around the scenic forest] Jagreeti, the beauty of this place
is truly remarkable. Right? The vibrant greenery, peaceful ambiance, and clean
air make it feel like a piece of heaven on earth.
Miss. Dutta: [Nodding in agreement] Indeed, it is truly a remarkable spectacle.
Nevertheless, I have concerns, about the future of this piece of heaven as it
faces the imminent danger caused by the negative impacts of global warming.
Mr. Ghosh: [Looking concerned] What do you mean, Jagreeti?
Miss. Dutta: [Suspiring] Having served as a forest officer; I have personally
observed the direct impact of global warming on our environment. The
escalating temperatures, unpredictable weather patterns, and the gradual
disappearance of glaciers are all consequences of the greenhouse gases released
into the atmosphere through human activities.
Mr. Ghosh: [Deep in thoughts] Yes, that’s true and very much concerning. How
have you observed it affects our nature?
Miss. Dutta: [Stopping in her tracks and turning to face Mr. Ghosh] Okay, let
me explain. The raising temperatures are leading to alterations in the
precipitation patterns, consequently impacting the development and well-being
of the trees in our forests. Moreover, the shifting climate is creating favourable
environments for pests and diseases, ultimately leading to the demise of
numerous trees. Moreover, it threatens biodiversity, leading to species
extinction, shifts in migration patterns, and loss of natural resources. Overall, it
destabilizes the delicate balance of nature, endangering countless species and
ecosystems.
Mr. Ghosh: [Worriedly] That’s terrible! It not only affects the flora but also the
fauna that depend on these forests for survival.
Miss. Dutta: [Nodding] Indeed. The loss of their native environment has left
the animals with a severe scarcity of both shelter and food. Over the years, the
numbers of various kinds of species have declined.
Mr. Ghosh: [With deep concern] Is there anything we can do to stop this from
happening?
Miss. Dutta: [Looking determined] As an environmentalist, I think you must be
aware of the steps that we can take to mitigate the effects of global warming and
save our mother nature.
Mr. Ghosh: [Avidly] Indeed, without a doubt. We must switch to alternative
energy sources, grow more trees, and minimize our carbon footprint.
Miss. Dutta: [Smiling] That's right. However, planting more trees is not
enough; we also need to provide them the right upkeep and care in order to
ensure their existence.
Mr. Ghosh: [Seems like he is noting everything mentally] Yes, I will certainly
spread awareness about this among people via social media, arts, awareness
campaigns, etc. We all need to take responsibility and act now before it's too
late.
Miss. Dutta: [Shaking head] I agree with you, Mainak. As a worldwide
concern, climate change requires collaboration from all of us.
Mr. Ghosh: [Recognizing something] In relation to collaboration, wouldn’t it
be wonderful if we could work together on a project that would increase
people’s awareness of the harm that global warming is causing to our
environment?
Miss. Dutta: [Contented] What a fantastic concept! In the most devastated
regions, we may plant additional trees and host seminars to spread awareness. In
addition to educating people, it will support the restoration of nature’s
equilibrium.
Mr. Ghosh: [Smiling] I’m glad you found the concept appealing, and I have no
doubt that we will carry it out together.
Miss. Dutta: [Start walking again] Without a doubt, I think it is our duty to save
the natural beauty of this wonderful planet for the coming generations.
Mr. Ghosh: [Walking with a fresh feeling of desire] Certainly. It’s our prior
duty to make this earth a better place to live not only for humans but also for all
other organisms living on this planet.
[The two friends continue walking through the forest, discussing their plans to
raise awareness and take action against global warming.]
