Digital media is any media converted from
waves into codes, Its stores, transmit and
transformed data into numbers.
Digital media is transmitted as digital data,
which at its simplest involves digital cables
or satellites sending binary signals –– 0s
and 1s –– to devices that translate them
into audio, video, graphics, text, and more.
What is
Digital Media?
Digital media is any form of media that uses electronic
devices for distribution. This form of media can be
created, viewed, modified, and distributed via
electronic devices. Digital media is commonly used
software, video games, videos, websites, social media,
and online advertising.
Digital media is a type of media which covers content & promotions
delivered through digital platforms including electronic media,
mobile phones, computers, podcasts, applications etc. Companies &
people use digital media for various purposes including information
source, entertainment, games, business etc.
Anytime you use your computer, tablet, or cellphone, opening web-
based systems and apps, you’re consuming digital media.
Background
From about 1980 on, coinciding with the advent of the World
Wide Web. The time period that began when the Internet was
released to the public domain and the sharing of knowledge
because open and available to all. Also referred to as
Information Age.
While digital media did not come into common use until the late
20th century, the conceptual foundation of digital media is
traced to the work of scientist and engineer Vannevar
Bush and his celebrated essay "As We May Think", published in
The Atlantic Monthly in 1945.
The transition to the digital age began in the late 20th century,
peaking in the 1990s with the rise of platforms like Yahoo,
signifying a significant shift from traditional to digital media
