This document provides a project plan for creating an online scanning tutorial for Davis Library at UNC-Chapel Hill. The tutorial aims to help students and faculty use the library scanners independently with less assistance needed from reference staff. Over three months, graduate assistants will gather scanning requirements, design the tutorial, develop content using Dreamweaver and Photoshop, test the tutorial, and assess its impact on reference questions. If successful, the tutorial could reduce scanning questions and increase efficiency by allowing users to learn scanning steps on their own schedule through an interactive online resource. Risks are minimal as the library already supports the necessary software and systems. The project's success will be measured by decreased scanning questions and users accessing the full tutorial.
