INSTALL ORACLE SOFTWARE (11G SOFTWARE):

USER: ORACLE GROUP: DBA

[root@db31 ~]# groupadd dba

[root@db31 ~]# useradd -g dba -m oracle

[root@db31 ~]# chown -R oracle:dba /u02

[root@db31 ~]# chmod -R 775 /u02

[oracle@db31 ~]$ su - oracle

[oracle@db31 oracle]$ cd /u02

[oracle@db31 u02]$ ls

[oracle@db31 u02]$ cd stagedb

[oracle@db31 stagedb]$ ls

[oracle@db31 stagedb]$ cd database

[oracle@db31 database]$ ls

[oracle@db31 database]$ firefox welcome.html

[Suppose display problem (set display)]


open new terminal

[root@db31 ~]# xhost +

[oracle@db31 ~]$ firefox welcome.html

# Select Database Quick Installation Guide : "HTML"

# Select Configuring Kernel Parameters

fs.file-max = 6815744
kernel.shmall = 2097152
kernel.shmmax = 536870912
kernel.shmmni = 4096

# copy to this kernal parameter

# Minimize firfox

# open new terminal

[root@db31 ~]# vi /etc/sysctl.conf


paste

:x (save) & (exit)

[root@db31 ~]# sysctl -a (activate kernal parameter)

# close new terminal

# and also close firefox

# go to old terminal

[oracle@db31 ~]$ ./runInstaller

# copy scipts

# open new terminal

paste the scripts

[root@db31 ~]# /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/root.sh

enter

The file "dbhome" already exists in /usr/local/bin. Overwrite it? (y/n)


[n]: y

The file "oraenv" already exists in /usr/local/bin. Overwrite it? (y/n)

# then close the terminal

# close the scripts windows

# close
