You are on page 1/ 1

In earlier modules you have read about ableism.

Your knowledge around this topic

should grow as you review more videos and read additional articles. In graduate school,
you do not 'forget about' content just because you have moved on to new material.
Instead, you are constantly growing your base of knowledge, integrating new material
into your previously mastered ideas.
You will not be able to read your classmates comments until after you create an original
post (OP).
• In your OP, include a key point made in one of the following two articles.
Explain how you will use this information to help you become a better
practitioner (teacher, behavior analyst, SLP, etc.).
o Carbone, P.S., et al. (2024). A comparison of parent-reported severe
autism with mild/moderate autism among US children. Journal of
Developmental & Behavioral
Pediatrics. https://doi.org/10.1097/DBP.0000000000001306Links

o Clarke, E. B., et al. (2024). Understanding profound autism:
Implications for stigma and supports. Frontiers in
Psychiatry, 15. https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyt.2024.1287096Links

• You can incorporate information from videos you have reviewed - but make
sure you have addressed something in one of the articles from this course. If
you find information related to the topic that we read previously, you can
incorporate those instead of the Carbone or Clarke articles. But your post
should be connected to a required reading in this course.
