Smartphones

Smartphones are advanced cellular devices that integrate computing capabilities, enhancing communication and connectivity while also posing risks such as digital addiction and reduced face-to-face interaction. The first smartphone prototype was developed in 1992, with significant milestones like the iPhone marking their evolution. Currently, nearly 90% of cellular phones are smartphones, with over 7.2 billion in use globally, and their prevalence is expected to grow.

• A smartphone is a cellular telephone
with an integrated computer and
other features not originally
associated with telephones, such as
an operating system (OS), web
browsing and the ability to run
software applications. Smartphones
are used by consumers and as part of
a person's business or work.
• Smartphones help us be able to talk
to each other.
The first commercially available device that
could be properly referred to as a
smartphone began as a prototype called
"Angler" developed by Canova in 1992 while
at IBM and demonstrated in November of
that year at the COMDEX computer industry
trade show.

A big milestone that smartphones hit was the

Iphone it was created by Steve Jobs.
• While smartphones offer convenience,
they also bring negative effects such
as digital addiction, reduced face-to-face
interaction, and privacy risks. Decreased
Face-to-Face Interaction: Excessive
smartphone usage can reduce in-person
communication, leading to weaker social
bonds and a decline in interpersonal
skills.
• Enhanced Communication: Smartphones
provide instant connectivity through
calls, messaging, and social media,
bridging distances and enabling constant
communication with loved ones and
colleagues.
• he 2000 survey, only 28.3 percent of
respondents reported that they owned their
own cell phone. (An additional 11.1 percent
reported that they shared a cell phone with
another household member.) By the year
2002, fully one-half of respondents reported
owning their own cell phone.
• Globally, almost 90% of cellular phones are
smartphones. And the majority of the
world's population currently owns one.
There are currently over 7.2
billion smartphones worldwide a number
that's projected to increase in the coming
years.

• I think that in the future that
smartphones will be known to
everyone and everybody will use them
for everything.
• I think that smartphones have a
good and bad impact on society
