E X AM P L E :

Trigger: Mom said “Did you pay your Aunt for yesterday's dinner?”

First reaction: I stopped in my tracks, stopped breathing, mini shock, felt anger and
uneasiness.

Realized I was having a trigger and said: “I have a trigger”

Feelings:
Severe frustration, anger, discomfort.

Body:
Throat constricting, face blushing, stern face, show my frustration and anger in my
face. Dry throat. Constraint on my front neck muscles. Throat pain.

Thoughts/Imaginations:

“Do you really need to ask me that question?

“Why do you care?”
“Why are you always thinking the worst about me?”
“Can you mind your own business”
“I am tired of your nosiness and your hypervigilance to see if I am doing what’s right”
“Please stop getting on my business. My business is not your business. I am not the
reflection of you.”
“Please stop”

Core Fear:
Being controlled and micromanaged.

Core Need:
Support me in my journey,
Accompany if you want to but please let me be 100%
I do not need/desire uninvited or unsolicited advice.
