Introduction
This assignment gives you the opportunity to evaluate and critically analyze the selected
positions within a company’s annual report. These positions are of crucial importance for
obtaining final performance and economic benefits.
It is up to you to select one publicly listed company of your choice. It may be any
company that you may find. Be careful, when you are searching and selecting a potential
company, the selected company must have all necessary information for our assignment.
You are required to write a formal business report that covers the assessments tasks set
out below.
The individual performance and grading are according to BSBI’s grading criteria where
additional marks will be awarded for juxtaposition of your answers.
Learning Outcomes:
LO1. Explain and deal with the current theories and practices of finance and
accounting
LO2. Develop a sound understanding and describe the fundamentals of finance

Pick up a company of your choice (e.g., you can use https://finance.yahoo.com/), and
respond to the following questions:
1. You must present all financial statements and do overview of each statement
for three (3) consecutive years, i.e., 2019, 2020, and 2021. This means to
explain in words their key financial variables. (LO1)
2. In this task, calculate the following financial ratios for the three (3) year-period:
current ratio, acid-test ratio, inventory turnover ratio and Fixed assets turnover
ratio and provide substantial comments about the results. What we can say
about the results compared to the industry averages. What are results showing
us about the company selected? (LO2, LO3)
3. For the selected company, calculate and interpret the Economic Value Added
(EVA) for the three years i.e., 2019, 2020, and 2021, and explain in detail about

All materials must be properly referenced under Harvard conventions. The length required is 1,500 with tasks equally weighted. The writing style should be formal academic / report
writing style with in-text referencing to support your comments and observations. Originality, quality of argument and good structure are required. The formal report should demonstrate
