I. Read the text and fill in the blank
The little house stood at the end of a quiet street, its red roof shining under the
sun. Birds sang in the big oak tree beside it, and the wind made the wooden
gate creak. The sweet smell of freshly baked bread drifted from the open
kitchen window. A warm breeze brushed against my skin as I stepped onto
the soft grass. I took a sip of cool lemonade, its tangy taste refreshing on a
hot afternoon.

The house on the hill
My uncle lives on Banana Hill. This weekend, I went to visit him and I
was amazed by the place.
There is a big yellow house on the top most of the hill. It has a red door
and two yellow windows. The roof has a chimney. In front of the house, there
is a small garden with some colourful flowers. Next to the flowers, there is a
pond with a lot of fish. There are lots of chickens running around the pond
looking for worms. Next to the house, there is an old green tree with some
apples.
The smell of flowers surrounds the place, and the singing sound of birds
can be heard even when you are in the house. You can also hear fish
jumping in the ponds. The buzzing sound of the bees around the flowers is like
music!
I took one apple and it was juicy and tasty. They cooked some fish from
the pond and it made my mouth water.
I enjoyed my stay at my uncle’s place and I will surely go back again.
