INTRODUCTION
In these times we live in a connected world, children who now
they are born with the ability to handle or manipulate a cellphone, a tablet or a
computer; but the question is this. The function of technology is to make
easier and more satisfying the needs of people, doing things that
people would do in hours in a matter of seconds.
Imagine yourself, having a quiet lunch at home and your cellphone rings.
his room, the kitchen, or wherever he left it, it would be a great hassle to go
to look for it. Well, think that just by saying 'answer the call', your annoyance
would disappear, this function is performed by virtual assistants, programs
created to help the user at home, at work, and in different places,
fulfilling multiple functions; the needs to open a door are given,
answer a call, open the garage gate, etc., all of that gets resolved
with the help of these assistants.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT?
A virtual assistant is a software agent that helps users of systems
computational, computerizing and performing tasks with minimal interaction
man-machine. The interaction that occurs between a virtual assistant and a
the person must be natural, a person communicates using voice and the assistant
virtual processes, interprets, and responds in the same way fulfilling the
orders or answering user questions.
An intelligent personal assistant is a software-type agent that can perform
tasks or offering services to an individual. These tasks or services are based on
in user input data, location recognition and the ability to
access information from a variety of online resources (such as the weather or the
traffic, news, stock prices, user schedule, retail prices,
etc.).
The capabilities and use of virtual assistants are expanding.
quickly, with new products entering the market. This is due to the
benefits and conveniences offered by virtual assistants. The technology of
intelligent personal assistant is allowed by the combination of devices
mobile devices, application programming interfaces (APIs), and the proliferation of
mobile applications.
However, automated personal assistants are designed to perform
tasks that are only specified once through the user's voice while
that intelligent personal agents perform ongoing tasks (example:
update in the agenda or calendar) independently.
But what should a virtual assistant be like? There are several characteristics to consider.
count. The main thing is that they have to act with extreme professionalism and know
react appropriately, even in the face of harsh criticism or annoyances from the
clients.
HISTORY OF THE ASSISTANTS
VIRTUAL
The intelligent personal assistant has its origins in an intelligence project.

Adam Cheyer took some people from SRI International from the center of
artificial intelligence and formed a team to start the creation of SIRI. This
it was the first known intelligent personal assistant.
The first tool that enabled digital voice recognition was
IBM Shoebox, presented to the general public during the Seattle World Fair
from 1962, after its initial launch to the market in 1961. This computer
early, developed almost 20 years before the introduction of the first IBM
Personal Computer in 1981 was able to recognize sixteen spoken words
and the digits from 0 to 9. Around ten years later, the same group of
scientists developed a system that could not only analyze individual words
they are whole sequences of words enabled by the hidden Markov model.
Thus, the first virtual assistants, which applied software of
speech recognition were answering machines and medical software
of digital dictaphones; the first digital virtual assistant installed in a phone
intelligent was SIRI, which was introduced as a feature of the iPhone 4S

from SIRI INC., a spin-off of SRI International, which is a research institute
funded by DARPA and the United States Department of Defense. The
digital voice recognition technology became a feature of
the personal computers of Microsoft, IBM, Philips, and Lernout & Hauspie
fighting for customers, making technology meet the
primary needs of people.
METHOD OF INTERACTION OF THE
VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS
Virtual assistants do the work through Text (online chat),
especially in an instant messaging application or in another application,
for example with Amazon Alexa on the Amazon Echo device.
Or another method is taking and/or uploading images, as in the case of
Bixby on the Samsung Galaxy S8, some virtual assistants are accessible to
through multiple methods, such as Google Assistant via chat in the
Google Allo application and voice via Google Home smart speakers.
virtual assistants use natural language processing (NLP) to
combine the user's text or voice input with executable commands.
Many continuously learn using artificial intelligence techniques,
including machine learning.
DEVICES AND OBJECTS WITH
VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS
Virtual assistants can be integrated into various types of
platforms or, in the case of some like Amazon Alexa, through several of
they.
In objects like smart speakers such as Amazon Echo, Mycroft and
Google Home.
In instant messaging applications on smartphones
like via web, like the virtual assistant M both on Facebook and
Facebook Messenger.
Built as part of the mobile operating system, like Apple's SIRI
on devices with iOS, or on a stationary operating system such as
Cortana in Microsoft Windows.
Within instant messaging platforms, with assistants of
specific organizations, such as Aeroméxico's Aerobot on Facebook
Messenger or the WeChat Secretary in WeChat within mobile applications
of specific companies and other organizations, such as Dom from Domino's d, in
smartwatches, in appliances, cars, and technology with Android
Wear.
Ancient generations of virtual assistants that usually worked in
websites, like Ask Jenn from Alaska Airlines, or in voice response systems
interactive (RVI) like the RVI from American Airlines by Nuance.
SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE
VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS
Virtual assistants can provide a wide range of services,
including:
Provide information about the weather, data from Wikipedia or IMDB, adjust
alarms, to-do lists or shopping lists
Play music from streaming services like Spotify and Pandora;
reproduce radio stations; read audiobooks
Play videos, television shows or movies on televisions, from
sources such as Netflix
Buy items, such as from Amazon
Complement and/or replace customer service with
humans.18 A report estimated that an online automatic assistant
it produced a 30% reduction in the workload of a center
calls.
BENEFITS PROVIDED BY AN ASSISTANT
VIRTUAL
1. Provides various specialized services: This will always depend on the
nature of your e-commerce, but the same assistant can deliver
guidance on quite basic topics and others that could represent
greater complexity. For example, guiding the client to obtain some
document or explain the steps to unblock your IP address.
2. Increases customer satisfaction: Usually, when entering the sites that
they have built-in assistance there is a small window that opens in the
bottom right corner of the page. It can turn into an excellent
help for the user, because they see that their requirements are being met
effectively.
3. Reduce response times: Except for social media, the channels

and the phone numbers, but do not necessarily provide a response
quick and efficient. On the other hand, a virtual assistant has the ability to
to deliver instant attention, which is highly valued by the customer
new and by the old.
4. Decrease the company's costs: While there is a cost associated with the
hiring this virtual service, there will also be savings by having someone
to execute it. Moreover, for the purpose of optimizing customer service, already
you will have a decrease in expenses in time and money.
CONCLUSION
Finally, addressing the topic of virtual assistants and today's technology,
Let's say it is very visible in the near future, the fantasies of cars.
Flying cars, this type of transportation will soon go from fiction to reality.
Regarding virtual assistants, we have evidenced the contributions they provide to
people, projecting ourselves into the future, with the help of virtual assistants do not
we will have more complications
