ACTIVITY 2

1. List two entrepreneurs (not listed in O2 handout) that made impact in your life or the society.

For me it probably the one of the most famous entrepreneurs of our era also called as the
world’s wealthiest individual, which is Bill Gates. Bill Gates always inspired me because of his
humble beginnings as a young person and now with his success as always donating a large
amount of money to charity organizations, which greatly helps in reducing poverty, providing
education and providing access to technology worldwide. Bill Gates is an American business
magnate a software developer (Microsoft) and a Philanthropist. As a Co-founder of Microsoft
with his partner Paul Allen and founded the world’s largest software business the Microsoft with
his keen business strategy, innovation and aggressive business tactics. He advice the new and
old entrepreneurs to analyze any situation from every possible angles then to make decisions
and stick with it.

Second entrepreneur that inspires me was Henry Ford; his story toward success is very
admirable. He started as bringing automobile accessible to American workers because of that
time automobiles was for the rich and so average Americans cannot afford. With his
determination, he decided to build a simple, variable yet affordable to American workers.
Instead of earning large profits, he lowered the prize of his car. As a result, Ford Motors sold
more cars and increased his earnings and transforming his luxury cars to be accessible to
American society.
Without Bill Gates and Henry Ford, the world might not appear as it is today. Bill Gates
contribution is a big milestone to the information technology, without him maybe our
knowledge to information technology might not that successful as it is today and without Henry
Ford, if he never invented his car; the automobile industry might not be in the success as of
today. With them, we can gain inspiration and so much motivation on them.

2. In your opinion, how does value affect entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurs create value for themselves by creating value for society or others. The
importance of value in a business would be without values creation business would not be in
business at all. Value does not only for entrepreneur but also for its consumers a car would not
become a functional car if it does not combined with the skill and hard work of employees at
manufacturing plants. That is why the value affects all of us. Its importance for entrepreneurs is
needed because it provides well-being, keep them competitive in the market, and consumes
need value because it provides the products and services we need in our daily lives.

3. Will you aspire to have a business that creates value for society? Or a business that value for the
Shareholders? Why?

I would really love to have a business that creates values to society as businesses that create value to
society by creating products and services that creates advances in society. In actuality, society itself
would hardly exist, as you know if it weren’t for businesses. The benefits they allow and the
opportunities they provide are crucial to the way the world is viewed. It gives forward thinkers and
dreamers a place to turn their visions into reality. Businesses thrive on excited and motivated employees
reaching for a common goal. They read their local environments and provides services or products
based on the needs of those around them. They are influencers that control trends and bring
importance to critical issues. Understanding society means having a firm grasp on the businesses that
make it up. Business is important to society because it creates stronger employment rates. For every
new business created, there is always amount of job provided for local individuals. Business can help
decrease the rate of unemployment in any given area; it can be able to substantially affect society.
When people aren’t employed, they have significant less money to spend. When they cannot spend an
income, businesses have fewer costumers and start to suffer.
