Play "Touch the cards"


The teacher walks around the classroom touching the weather cards. Teacher touches
each card do the gesture while saying the vocabulary (e.g., it's sunny!).

Let the children do the gesture by group.


1. Use hand gestures for the weather words:
• sunny: slowly spread your arms out
• rainy: wiggle your fingers downwards like rain
• windy: gesture wind blowing out of your mouth
• cloudy: make cloudy shapes with your hands
• stormy: close your eyes and put your hand on your ears like you hear
the thunder

weather. The different weather conditions may be recorded in weather chart.

What is weather?
The condition of air, clouds and wind at a certain time and place is called weather. It
is how much sunlight or rain a place has.

What causes the weather?


Weather is caused by the sun, wind temperature, clouds, and water. You already
know that the sun gives heat and light. Moving air is wind. The air may be hot or cool.
This is called temperature.

What are the different kinds of weather?


Weather can be sunny day, windy day, cloudy day, rainy day, or stormy day.

What are the different kinds of weather sunny?
