Introduction
In this slide, we’ll discuss the revamp in odoo 18 document
module. Odoo 18's Document module, or Document
Management, is a powerful tool for managing and organizing
various types of documents within our business. It provides a
centralized platform for storing, categorizing, sharing, and
tracking documents of different formats, such as PDFs, Word
documents, images, and more. The latest enhancements in
Odoo 18 aim to improve collaboration, version control, and
accessibility, making document management more efficient and
user-friendly.

The upload button in previous versions is replaced with a
dropdown button “New” which include options like upload
document, request a document, Add link, Spreadsheet, and also
create a folder.

If we choose Upload, then we can upload a document to this
module.

From our system we can easily add the document.
Enterprise
Then we can choose request option from the New button to
request a document.
Enterprise
This will open a wizard for requesting the file, where we can provide
the document name, to whom we are requesting, due date, folder etc.

Then we can go to the folder we provided while requesting the
document.

In the folder we can see our requested document.

If we click on the icon, we can see the scheduled activities for this.

Next we can choose the link option to add any URL to this
document module.

In the wizard opened, we can provide the URL details, name and
the folder to add the URL. After that we can click on the Add button

In the folder, we can see the URL we added.

Next we can directly create a spreadsheet from the document
module by choosing the Spreadsheet option from the New button.

We can choose the template for the spreadsheet and then click on
the create button in the wizard.

We can modify the spreadsheet as per need and click on
documents to go back.

Now the spreadsheet will be saved in to the files folder.

Next by clicking on folder, we can add a folder.

In the wizard opened, we can give the name for the folder and click
on Save button.

We can see the newly created folder in the Home page.

The next change in the document module is the Chatter view. We
can click on the chatter icon or display or hide chatter from the
view.

This will add chatter to the view.

The next one is we can share the document easily by clicking on
that document.

In the wizard opened, we can manage the access of users to this
document.
Enterprise
We can simply add people to access this document and also give
necessary access for them from the option available and then click
on Send button.
